  1. Email Rob Courter at [email protected] . He can get anything obtainable in short order. I would NOT deal with Greg. As far as the no-start on the NX6 engine. Do you have books? If not, you really need to get some. If you own a Peugeot, you need to learn to fix it yourself. Here's the engine one: clicky There are very good diagnostic flow charts in these books. Buy other ones as well. There are 7. DO NOT buy photocopied ones. Factory ones are perfect bound. Photocopies are velobound. You getting spark? Fuel?
  2. The outlook looks kindda bleak though out the auto sector. Clearly, the only way to get into the US market it with a huge dollar commitment. You have to build a factory here. I'm sure they've done it for the Chinese - and hell, you don't get in bed with the Chinese without a minority position. I was one who suggested a tieup with Mitsubishi, but there's a 3rd tier player. They need world class premium cars. Would their current lineup work? I don't know. Even BMW with it's very profitable niche rolls out small numbers. Although FIAT is now an official heavy hitter, they're certainly not out of the woods. The turd known as Chrysler is still a heavy burden to bear. If I were a betting man, I'd say PSA has a better survival chance than FIAT/Chrysler.
  3. First off, sorry about your Pug. Does that change your plans for the car? I'd play it safe in this economy and get the Subaru. Bottom line, if it ain't a toyota, then get the Sub. Nothing that can go wrong will be that expensive. There is one Subaru that has weak headgaskets. I don't remember which one. Maybe Rabin can shed more light. Good luck and stay away from the Audis!
  4. Is anybody else seeing this? You can't do SQL injection here. CSS? Rabin, are you seeing this. Also got itt in Chrome.
  5. Looks very nice. No relation to seller. http://boston.craigslist.org/nos/cto/2742550494.html
  6. Not to hijack, but what's up with FIAT anyway? I was reading on autoblog that their sales are 50% or target (which was modest). Why aren't they selling? I've seen them on the road (two), but I haven't seen one up close or driven one. Maybe it's those horrible j-lo commercials...
  7. I'm leaning towards the AAD. I fitted a new one to my 87 N9TE sedan and what I noticed the most was a big improvement cold drivability. I think the N9TEA part number is Bosch: 0 280 140 110 The N9T and N9TE part is: 0 280 140 174 I wasn't able to find the 110 part anywhere in North America. W-H only lists the 110 part (0345.30). Rock Auto has the 174 for $80. W-H has it for $100 more... <sigh> W-H sure makes it hard to support them sometimes...
  8. I saw that car too. Wonder if the engine is that factory gold one that was on eBay a couple of years ago.
  9. Most of the time, the heater element is TU. I bought one OEM one back in the day (still haven't installed it). They have aftermarket heating elements which is the route I'd go. Pretty cheap ($120) leatherseats.com
  10. It can cost for a wire transfer fee. Check with your bank. The cost should have dropped since I knew about it. Back then it was $10 You'll need: 1. ABA number (also referred to as Routing Number, Bank Number) 2. Bank account (also referred to as a DDA number [demand deposit account]) 3. S.W.I.F.T. #: (this will be the financial institution's number) I used to get a few overseas payments and they always bitched about the fee (which I had no part of). And better hurry up before the Euro implodes and you have to do it in Francs! Also, you'd be wise to know who you're sending money to as you have no recourse if it goes sideways. (think Casino Royale)
  11. Eh, at €77 vs €75 I'm OK with just 1. I agree it should come to the US for cost reasons. If André doesn't want to deal with it, I'd be happy to. Hmmm... I have a PayPal account that I use to buy things, but have never used it to receive things. Is it any big deal to use my paypal to take money? OR, if Rabin wants to take the money and I'll handle the , that's fine too.
  12. So you want me to send you the money André? If the prices have gone up to reflect the lack of interest, I'll only pop for one I guess.
  13. There ya go! That should do ya. Get your input on ABS cars!
  14. The power mirror switch is really flaky on my 89 turbo. I went on eBay and bought another one. I think it's a series I unit. Here it is: and the connectors: I need the series II one: PM me with price. I prefer PayPal or can cut you a physical check if needed. Thanks!
  15. I've always thought this was the biggest no brainer political issue out there. There in no reason why this shouldn't be done. If Barry balks, bring it up during the campaigns.
  16. I'm getting rid of stuff I'll never use. I'm starting to look like an old lady hording newspapers from the 70s or something. I will never have a MK1 505 so it's time I lose a bunch of stuff I've accumulated over the years. First up is a passenger's side mirror. It's brand new, never used. I don't know if it's a Peugeot OEM unit or aftermarket. Came in a Peugeot/Talbot box, but the box says PG-814967 (which says LH (Driver's) side). W-H has none and when they do it's $220. I'll take $75 + 15 shipping. If you're short on cash and want to trade stuff, I've got two MK2 turbos. I need: * 4 way mirror control switch * Stereo stuff * upper rad hose for N9TE
  17. NICE! I'm a fan of oddballs. I love the Caravelle and the Simca sedan. The Espada and Montreal are eye chocolate. Got to get a SM someday. We have a French and Italian car show here. I have to start showing up!
  18. Not to mention they have a picture of the N9T pump... I had that happen to me when I "founf" 5 or so water pumps from an online vendor. I think they were Beck/Arnley units. I bought them all, only to have my cc refunded two weeks later when it turned out "they didn't have them". I wasn't surprised. Hope this does pan out. It would be good to have as many useable cores in circulation amongst the owners here. Can never be too sure these days.
  19. OK. So, I needed to get a decent water pump as I'm going to do a cooling system service on my 89. I've heard that there are only 4 Peugeot OEM water pumps in Europe. Western Hemispheres has one for $400. Rabin found an aftermarket one on eBay for about $100. I went a different route. I had it rebuilt by The Flying Dutchman. Tony is an awesome guy. There's down by Central Point in Oregon (anybody remember Central Point Software?). He took a water pump that I pulled off Stefan Ides' engine he sold me. The bearings were shot (would not turn). It was rusted and generally the nastiest pump you ever saw. It's like new! Before pictures: After pictures: It cost me $125. It should have been a bit more as he fixed the pulley where one of the rivets failed. Like I said, real good guy. Really enjoys his work and it shows. Give it a go. I recommend him. Here's a YouTube video featuring his work:
  20. Look at the fusebox. 25 years and the connections tend to go bad between the fuses and the holders. The blower motor is on it's own 20amp circuit.
  21. The tough thing is finding lights with a rear post. If you get the top/bottom post, they'll hang too low and will get roached by a curb/parking spot. I'd take either Hellas or Cibiés rear post. I've kept my eyes open for them for over 4 years and have found nothing.
  22. Wasn't Victor there last year or a couple of years ago. Not too many SoCal Peugeot guys that I know of. Not many Peugeot guys period...
  23. I'd say since automatics are more problem prone, if it's shifting right, give it the full 10 points. Perhaps, driveline/differential could be included in there as well. Thinking of vibration/noise. The reason I'd like to see a full 10 points given to the driveline behind the flywheel/flexplate is because if something there is broken, it seriously affects the value of the car.
