    Need tiny dog-bone

Hi all, I'm putting my door back together. Dynamat Extreme. Nice stuff, but boy, if I ever have to go back in there, it's gonna be tough. I don't think you're going to be re-using it. Anyway, I was having an intermittent problem which turned out to be a dry-solder joint. Soldered those back and it looks like I'm good to go. However, I lost one of the little 5mm x 1.4mm little copper connectors that look like a dog bone. If you have a complete unit, I'd like to buy it. If you just have a roached one, I'll buy that too. Plus, I have one for a series I car if someone needs it. Let me know. Thanks!
  3. It is a brand new timing belt. $12 should do it. Paying people? I've been using Venmo (A PayPal company) https://venmo.com/ People use it to cover split lunch bills, send someone $5, etc. PM me your address and I'll send back my email. Good luck, I sure miss my Mi16. Awesome cars!!
  4. Hi all, I'm working my way through my doors on my 87 505 turbo and I got a rude awakening. I thought these were interchangeable front-to-back. I knew they would be different left-to-right, but the front ones on Series II cars are 15mm longer than the rear ones. (!!!) I need both front anthracite (dark gray) ones. Preferably with all 5 tabs intact. Name your price! Speaking of such... Has anybody though what it would take to mould plastic parts? Thanks!
  5. Don't worry, I don't have any terminal disease. I just want to get some parts on cars that need them as I have a very slim chance of using this. (Seeing I sold my 405 a few years ago) 13 lbs shipped. USPS. Prefer Venmo. Thanks,
  6. I have a NIB Beck Arnley timing belt part #: 026-0290 Just cover shipping. USPS. Small packet. Prefer Venmo
  7. I just put what I think are the last set of N9Tx vented rotors on my car. I bought them directly from Peugeot about 10 years ago after begging them for them. The rest were probably scrapped. I would rather buy parts from JC Whitney or K-Mart rather than RA. If you buy something where they screwed up. They'll tell you it has a value and you should eBay it to get your money back. I ordered a head gasket set and was sent a head gasket set for a FIAT. They would do nothing for me. You can add parts to your cart and click buy and you might get something that's correct. But, understand that it may not and if it doesn't, you're just out the money. I bought some small item about a year ago with that mindset. It was not the right part. I'll park the car and catch it on fire before I ever buy another part from Rock Auto. 944 calipers are similar and I think can fit with some massaging. Rabin and Arun are pretty much the experts on that subject. I'm sure they'll chime in.
  8. Why do this? Vinyl wrapped some of the chrome pieces in matt-black Avery. Previous owner did a black-out with paint. This looks a bit better and is non-destructive. I also wrapped and installed new taillights (wrapped the chrome). Actually, the "chrome over plastic" is a manufacturing process called vacuum metalization. The capitalization costs are huge (large vacuum machine costs > $500K, etc) so getting plastic pieces 'rechromed' as it were, is almost impossible.
  9. There are three clips on the back on the trim piece (pictures 2 & 3). There is a small ramp on which those clips grab the mounting rail. Arrows in this picture. Carefully (with a pick or something) pry it away from the rail. No need to force anything. It'll come easily.
  10. No affiliation. I'd buy it just for the interior and engine. It could be restored. https://www.ebay.com/itm/1988-Peugeot-505-Turbo-S/283530642324?hash=item4203be4394:g:2oYAAOSw4lldFgUY&vxp=mtr
  11. I need to safely remove and replace this piece. I don't know how to do this. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks,

I wrote to them and they said the shipping costs are largely subsidized. I'll be ordering a few things for sure.

I put a windshield in my basket and it only quoted me $55 shipping to Seattle.... I'm thinking that's not going to happen. Victor, have you purchased anything from them before? Thanks. They have some cool parts there!
  14. It's been down for like 2 weeks now...
  15. Coming along nicely Mike! So glad to see that. Question for you. Can you ask your leather guy if he has a recommendation for a leather shop in Seattle? If he doesn't have anybody, would it be proper to bring up a set of 505 Series II gray leather seats for him to do. Your look just luscious there! Thanks,
  16. Sorry a little late to this conversation. When my head let go many of the cracks also were originating from the water jackets. Leading me to believe that the technology is just a little too old or bleeding edge for the day to function properly 30 years forward. I truly admire you for trying to go bigger on HP. My car is finally coming together, but I'm really at a crossroads. Parts availability in general is killing my desire to keep the car. If the engine lets go, maybe a swap. These cars are like Jay Leno's strange orphan cars that can only survive and thrive with his resources. Like Anj's Porsche brake swap to deal with the unobtanium rotors, keeping some of the original Peugeot stuff is getting harder and harder. Especially if you're going to be breaking parts. And if you ain't breaking parts, you ain't trying hard enough to go faster. This kindda squirrels away from the original question you posed. I plan on using the current best practices for keeping my head alive as long as possible. I, unfortunately don't have anything else to offer.
  17. Rabin, You've done this, right? Could you confirm? Thanks!
  18. Have a call into Brian Holm for a set of fog lights. However, that might not happen. What would my options be? Are there any options that look close to period correct? Aren't ours rear-mount Bosch units? Share what you've done!
  19. Hi all, I'm going through my relay box making it new and now is the time to fuse that wire. Is this the one, right? Fan shouldn't draw any more than 10 amps, right? Thanks!
  20. Ah, this is going sideways on me. I replace the ignitor and coil with Wells/Airtex units. They are DOA. I fell for their videos on how they are so quality driven. It gets better, I got them from RockAuto. I'm not even going to waste my breath with them. I should have known. Old Bosch stuff just isn't for sale the the US. I can't find these parts. Anybody know something I don't here? I swear, this is the one thing that get me out of these cars. The damn parts situation.
  21. Title says it all. I want to replace the ignition control module in my 87 Turbo S (N9TE). I don't have confidence that the units I have are oem. I have the Peugeot number, but not the Bosch one and I can't find the Peugeot unit anyware. (surprise!) Found the Standard Motor LX621 and Airtex 6H1226 on RockAuto, but I'd rather buy a Genuine Bosch one if possible. Thanks,
  22. Hi all, Hope October is starting out well for everybody. Lining up jobs on the 87 505 turbo that need to be done. And this is a "maybe" job. The old shift knob disintegrated in my hand a few years ago and the car wasn't my daily driver so I waited in replacing it. Now, it's running much better and I want to get it 100% road worthy. I got a knob from Brian Holm but the shifter itself is a little discolored. I'd like to have it refinished before putting another knob on it as the knobs aren't really made to go on and off. Rabin, didn't you pull one insitu before? Thanks!
