trymes
My '86 505 Turbo-Gas sedan is missing its battery hold-down, so the battery is wandering around the engine bay a bit. Does anyone have one that they could sell me? Tom
Bean
It's a VERY simple L bracket - might be easier to fabricate. I failed you getting pictures of the turbo on the stand, but I'll try again to get you pictures of the bracket to hold the battery. trymes
Thanks, that would be helpful. I knew it had to be simple, but I wasn't certain, and if the original part is around, all the better. Is the fastener odd-ball? It looks like it at first glance, but I haven't had a chance to look closely. Tom PS: No need to get photos of the turbo, I'm far more familiar with it than I ever wanted to be at this point! Goce
Tom, have you had a good look around the engine bay for the original battery hold down bracket, i've strip down couple of cars where i've found two or three hold down brackets extra, at the windscreen wiper mechanism or behind the headlight, on the 505 there are couple of types used one of them looks identical to a 405 or a 205 if your car uses that type you'll in luck. trymes
Thanks, Goce, I'll do that. I found this photo online, is this what I am looking for?
Goce
The type you've shown is used on new peugeot and citroen vehicles year 2000 and newer, i would expect something similar like the 405 a bridge type, i'll attached picture of a 405. SRDT
Looks like the 505 can have both, maybe depending of the market/battey size.
trymes
Thanks for that photo. I may be mistaken, but the 505, at least mine, has a small bracket that wedges against a "foot" on the bottom of the battery to hold it in place from the bottom; there is nothing holding it down from the top (though I may be wrong about that). trymes
My last message crossed in the mail with SRDT's. I was poking about on eBay and noticed that the part for an '02-'07 Jeep Liberty might fit. I'm guessing a flat piece of aluminum with a hole drilled in the right place might work, too. SRDT
Same on my 309, the bracket that goes on top must exist but I only have the small one.
Goce
Yeah your car uses the smaller type, and you in luck, newer models 106 306 partner use the same search ebay.
