Thanks for then info Eurotrash!

When I need one disk for my car, I know where to get it.

Was that price for just one disk? <_<

I found a brand new disk like that in the trunk of my car when I bought it, I paid about $125 for the whole car

And norcal505, please post something relevant.

I have been under the impression that the ABS rotors were a USA thing only as European cars didn't have it, therefore the reason that we couldn't get rotors was that there were very few cars sold (worldwide). I am having some CAD drawings made up to have rotors made. Obviously the more rotors we can order the less they will cost. however, they are NOT likely to be vented but would (most likely) be cross drilled. That's the plan anyway.

Well, I can tell you that at least my car has ABS, and I don't think it's likely that it's imported.

It would seem odd to me if peugeot made cars fitted with ABS just for the US-market and didn't sold any to Europe.

I think I have to check with my local peugeot-dealer if they have any ABS rotors available.

SSB, good luck with your rotors, let me know if you need measurements from my new rotors. I do believe you will need cross-drilling, your rotors will need to be as thick as the vented ones for the pads to apply enough stopping pressureā€¦ so they will be very thick, heavy, and will stay hot longer.

I talked to Dean from Peugeot Specialist, he said he could find more discs but I wouldn't wait too long. It's $400.00 for both discs...

I looked everywhere in the US and found none, that's why I resorted to Europe. I hope you go forward with your plan SSB, it would be great.

If ABS was available world-wide, why can't we get ABS rotors for Peugeots list parts price (far less than $400, I'd bet) or even aftermarket ?? Doesn't that orphan allot of cars. (only a thousand or two in the USA)

My 505 is my only source of transportation, so I either buy the rotors or buy a new car... even $1000 would be cheaper than that, but I'm not happy about having to pay $600 for rotors.

And if you think about it it's Peugeot's fault because they clearly don't give a damn, or else they would manufacture more rotors. I'd like to find Peugeot's CEO and shove a wheel bearing down his throat. (at least)

A couple of factors make this understandable. First, the demand must be very low and second, being a one-off part (the rotor was not used on ANY other car to my knowledge) it requires dedicated resources for this one part.

That being said, the rotors should be one of the last parts to go NLA as it makes the car inoperable without it and it IS a consumable. For those reasons, Peugeot should step up production to at least meet demand.

THAT being said, I called Peugeot and begged for some rotors. They put me in touch with this company in GA that is an authorized Peugeot Dealer and coordinated an order from France. They should arrive any day now drop shipped from NJ.

Total cost with shipping: $502.

Better deal? Dunno, I haven't gotten them yet. If all looks good, I'll post the contact infos, etc. so others can get them as well.

check out this reply from merry old england (IN REVERSE ORDER)

Let me be a little more specific then, 505 Turbo, '87 & up as non-ABS rotors won't fit ABS cars here, at least. That would be too easy.

I see you mentioned as a source for the above captioned rotors. Was ABS on '87

through '89 505's also or just USA cars??

Thanks for your anticipated response

I think there is only one rotor designed with 8 bolt attachment for Peugeot, if your car has this rotor I would go with that... be it V6 or turbo.

I know Dean isn't very interested in debating differences between American and European Peugeots.

I think Koll is right, the ABS rotors are not interchangeable with any other car. It's great that we have a contact in GA that can at least GET us the rotors for a reasonable price (well, reasonable for 505 abs rotors). New OE rotors from western hemispheres when they were available were $200 each, fyi.

Koll, would you mind posting the contact info for the GA dealer so other's can call and order rotors?

I am trying to find another source for these also. Can someone tell me if the OEMs are 266mm or 283mm? Mine are about ready to replace and I don't feel like pulling them to measure 'em.

Contact info:

Michelle

Paul Spruell Motorsports

[email protected]

Email her and ask for the Peugeot 505 turbo ABS rotors. Total cost including shipping was $501.29.

She will contact Peugeot NA and it will be drop shipped from Peugeot (FOB Allentown, PA) to you (UPS 3 day air). It took about two weeks. They have to come from France.

Just don't be a dork and lock 'em up when you bed the pads! I did that on the wife's car and there is a pulse. :)

Good info there!

I called my peugeot-dealer today and he can get me rotors for about 1800SEK, which is about $260. Crazy prices!!

The pads were NLA though :D

Luckily, an other firm has those so it will be allright.

it means he went too mad and warped the discs. whats the peugeot part number on that box of discs?

Actually it means in an attempt to do a repeated hard brake, I locked them up. Only for a 1/2 a second or so, but that is enough to screw up your rotors.

The part number is 4246H4.
