A careful review of Le Club 404's original Registry archives from 2009 has revealed the following new cars: 4495222, Carrosserie No. 255, Cabriolet Carburator, 30 May 1962, location: ST MEDARD D'EYRAN FRANCE 4499152, Coupé Carburator, 19 February 1967, location: YORK GREAT BRITAIN Total: 1680!

The 505 is tons better. The 508 wagons are used on the Tour de France by some teams and they're large and blobby. Not my cup of tea..... I wonder if anyone has ever come up to its driver and said :geez I wish I could get one of those for myself..... My guess: no! A Peugeot RCZ would definitely get that question.

Vancouver Island here.....one of the few remaining 404s in Canada is in my garage (and it never gets out). I rarely see Peugeots on the road and I am in Vancouver several times a year!

Good day, I recently acquired, thanks to the State of Oregon USA (and a voluntary tax donation of several tens of dollars) a list of every 404 that has ever been registered there. It's a small list, only 51 cars, of which only 3 are 404C models. These 404Cs are: 4499041 - a 1965 Cabriolet that is still registered in 2012 - located in Multnomah County Oregon - this is a new one to the Registry, photo below: 4498661 - a 1965 Cabriolet, former location in Oregon: Jackson County Oregon - now in the Turks and Caicos Islands and restored 4596027 - a 1965 Cabriolet Injection, formerly registered in Multnomah County Oregon, now restored and living in Miami Florida Total: 1673 !

This one was added today on the Club's forum: 4499932, Coupé Carburator 1967, Blanc Arosa 1132, location: INDRE FRANCE Total: 1672 !

Peter Teuffel sent me this information today, it is a car that is presently for sale in Germany: 4597304, Cabriolet Injection 1966, Rouge China 1135 and Black Leather, Car is for sale in Germany (ex-France) August 2012, Robergel wire wheels, Location: BARUM GERMANY Total: 1671![/

Sadly, this one was scrapped in 2003: 4496033, Cabriolet Carburator 1963, Bleu Pavone 1036, tan leather, Car was scrapped for parts in 2003, bought without papers from Belgium, constructor's plate still exists, location: VLAARDINGEN NETHERLANDS Total: 1670 !

6802514, Coupé Injection 1968, Bleu Clair Métallisé 1158, car was purchased, possibly for parts, in July 2012, location: VLAARDINGEN NETHERLANDS Total: 1669 !

Here is another one, a somewhat "customised" version: 4499248, Carrosserie No. 11294, Coupé Carburator, 1966, Gris Clair Métallisé and Noir 1000, Tan Leather, black roof, front turn indicators replaced by SEV Marchal glass units, location: 78000 YVELINES FRANCE Total: 1668!

At last, there is some news: 4599165 has probably been scrapped, because its engine now lives inside the Cabriolet number 4590936, and that car is now in France instead of the Netherlands. And.....here is the latest contribution from Le Club 404's self-Registration webpage: 4498473, Cabriolet Carburator 1965, bought by current owner on 26 January 1999, Noir 1000, black leather, Hard top, front end is updated to post-1966 type, location: PALM BEACH FLORIDA USA Total: 1667!

From the 404 Registry website today (sorry, no photo was sumbitted): 4670618, Cabriolet Carburator, 09 April 1968, bought by current owner on 13 September 2006, Noir 1000 with red leather, good condition. Hard top, Jaeger sports instrument panel; the car was a Coupé when it came from the factory. but in the late 1990s the roof was removed and it was changed into a convertible with original parts from another Peugeot 404 convertible. Engine (4cyl injection) and a 5 gear gearbox from the later 504 modells were used in exchange for the original parts, location: FRANKFURT AM MAIN GERMANY Total: 1665 !

Thanks to Francois Swanepoel for identifying the following car: 6801803, Carrosserie Peugeot 14854, Coupé Injection, model year 1968, Red with black interior, this car is for sale in June 2012, it has chrome wheels with wire wheel covers (not Robergel), location: SECUNDA, MPUMALANGA Province, SOUTH AFRICA Total: 1664 (11 of which are in South Africa)

Thanks to my good friend Reiner Plass (he owns a 203 Commerciale) for getting photos of these cars at Lac de Madine France (June 2012): 6801854, Carroserie No. 14948, Cabriolet Injection AM 1968, Blanc Arosa 1132, black leather, no "Injection" sign on rear and the engine is carbureted, dans son jus++, location: FRANCE And although the serial number is not new to our list, this car, No. 6801793, has at last been captured on film for the Club, and it is a beautiful example, I'm sure you'll agree (even if the colour is not original): Total: 1663 !

I can't say the styling is OK. It looks like a less stylish Camry (!) from the outside, to me. Hello Pininfarina, we need you! I wonder how the MINI engine moves the big car?

I drove one of these to Spain and back from Germany in 2009. Nice little car with the 1.6 diesel....
