  1. Can't do it... Its the distance that would require a lot of cash to cover to from Texas. I hope you find someone that can give this car a good home! The interior looks flawless! Tell me the AC doesn't work, then I won't feel as bad for not being able to do it.
  2. Very awesome! Those V6 505's with manuals truly are the holy grail. Love the look. My first car was a Peugeot 305, then a 405... and then I moved from the Netherlands to the states and have been driving a 05 mustang gt ever since. Still, I'd love to own a Peugeot again. Such an awesome ride quality, and I honestly believe the 405 is one of the best front wheel drive chassis ever created. The 505's are more than 25 years old now, so legally importable from France! If I had the money... Oh, by the way, I have a mad max fansite that I haven't updated in ages. If you have any high res pictures of that MFP 505 please tell me, I can give you my e-mail.
  3. I bet no one ever came and picked it up. Shame... I do wonder how bad the rust is on the car (rusted trough? or surface?). How the interior looks, if she drives or not and what the problem was that caused you to put her aside. Free... It would be hard to pass up if she's mechanically sound, or close to it. And the rust is fixable. Plano, where I am from, isn't that far of a trek...
  4. One could only expect a Peugeot owner to get why I put that sixxer in my video amonst those fire breathing V8's. They are a rare breed, most get a V8 conversion. Don't get me wrong, I am a V8 mustang kinda guy. Nothing else should be under the hood. But if one where to find a low mile, original vintage mustang 6 in line, for a price to good to be true, you should jump on it.
  5. Just a vid I did of a car show last April. No Peugeots, but since they are rarer than ferrari's around these parts it is to be expected. I've never even seen anything french there, save for the PRV powered DeLorean on another show in the past. Just a hint of french there... hahaha!
  6. Whow... why don't these gems turn up in Dallas? Although I've talked with Rob Coultier, and he seems to think the best 505 to own is a XN6 since parts are everywhere for those things. Even parts for the V6 are difficult to find according to him. Bummer, because I always wanted to have a nice 5 speed V6 in the driveway. This turbo though: - Silver Color √ - 1989 √ - Turbo √
  7. Whatever you do, do NOT get a SV24... It is somewhat of a rarity, and a lot less reliable than the good old 12 valvers. Even though it makes a cool 200bhp. Or so I've been told by a Peugeot mechanic back when I was in the "scene".
  8. I always wondered why no one put a chevy or ford smallblock in the front of a 505. They are big enough, and with 300ish horses on tap they'd turn some heads at the light for sure. Liable to piss some folks off too that don't expect it. The thing is, keeping her quiet for that sleeper look. But a corvette engine, all that displacement, torque and power. I really wonder if the 505's chassis is strong enough to withstand that brute force. That would be 400horse if you get one of the recent ones.
  9. Saw that one on e-bay today, I get in the "peugeot" mood every once and a while. Still hoping for that one 505 V6 or MI16 in my neck of the woods for not to crazy money. Wishful thinking. This once looks nice with the turbo body kit, but sadly it's the diesel. 505 V6 manual is what I would love to own next to that illusive silver metallic MI16

  11. Yeah, seen both, and both are gray market imports. I doubt either has the correct papers to be legal here! I would not want either of them. If I had to pay to import a current Peugeot I'd get myself a 406 coupe with the V6. All the usual pieces that need to be routinely replaced and a workshop manual. Drive it till it can't be driven anymore...
  12. It's to bad cars like that never show up around Plano Texas. I need a family vehicle in the near future, and I would not be adverse to something I could leave outside and still look unique in. Beats the alternative in gas mileage and price too... (Grand Marquis, Charger, got to have V8 power otherwise).
  13. I am not a fan of the Peugeot wheels, so I'd wonder if with the swap, one could swap the front steering assembly + brake package as well. You need some more brakes anyway, to slow down from 120+ mph in a hurry.
  14. Oh yeah... I've been thinking the same thing myself. Get a 505 V6, run it till it doesn't anymore, and then taking it away only to get it back with a V8 under the hood. Big problem is the absence of IRS on the widely available mustang drive trains. The only mustang drivetrain I know of that is IRS is the 99-04 cobra mustang. But that would be crazy stuff in a 505 I am sure... You'll have to weld a cage into that car to keep it together. Especially if you get the engine of a 03-04 cobra. That's 390bhp and 390tq for you non ford folk... WHOOOWEEEE!

  16. It's the nature of the beast... It's a French car, mechanics don't want to touch unless you know of a place that still does. That translates into the value. For us french car lovers the car is 5k, for anyone else... well... Here in Texas it would be revolution motors. It's 217 miles away from where I live in Plano, TX
  17. That's why I said one of the reasons. I am pretty sure it would handle like my 305 did, only a lot better. French comfort for the WIN! But I so want people to go "What the hell is that?" when I show it off on car shows... That is... if I can get everything worked out with the house and all... takes to darn long...
  18. I am not a big fan of the 206 cc as it has absolutely no room for people to sit in the back. However, it is supercool to see a Peugeot like that in the USA. And I would SO drive it! Stand out in the crowd is one of the reasons why I want one over here.
  19. 2500 is not a lot of money for a 505 Turbo that looks like the best one out there currently! Good luck, may a good future owner pay the right price for it!
  20. Either that or you swap one of the later 3.0 PRV's in it from a 605. BUUT... not the one from the SV24. Even though it has 200bhp, the way that engine is set up is not very friendly to a mechanic I've heard. Twin turbo avec 300+ horse in a car that weighs around 3,200 lbs including driver = mustang killer for sure. The mustang I got has 300 horse and weighs around 3,650 including driver. 0-60 in sub 6 seconds and 0-100 in under 14 seconds is a tough thing to beat. But I bet a twin turbo PRV6 would do so if you got a nice rear end that can take the abuse and lock both wheels instead of spinning one... The cars I mentioned in my first post are 88 STX's, and they'll have ABS standard, and thus no locking rear diff. And unlike old American cars which have lockers just about everywhere and no ABS I don't think you'd get a peugeot LSD diff to work with that stupid ABS in there. Makes me wonder if you could get rid of the ABS system altogether and just have regular brakes. But I don't want to do that. Just a stock 2.8 PRV with a dual exhaust and an intake. I want it as a daily driver, I doubt a twin turbo PRV would be as reliable. Especially with my tendency to use power when I know it is there. I'd be racing mustangs and camaro's left and right to humiliate them. And get a licenseplate that says something like "meslow" or "55mph"
  21. Well, if I get an ABS equipped car I just hope it works... I am not all that hung up on the system anyway, in my older Peugeot I never really skidded out of control.
  22. If I am doing a true dual from the headers I am not going to make it 3 inches each. Like you said, 1.75 - 2 inches would be just fine. I might make it a fake dual first for a couple of years, as I will need to run a cat till the car is 25 here in the states. Unless I can find a way to have 2 cats instead of one. The mustang for instance has 2 cats, one on each side, just after the headers. That runs down to the H pipe. That sucker has 3 inch piping, and many are running superchargers with the same exhaust system. That would be the number one indication that you don't need 2 x 3 inch pipes. I think I'll go with an H pipe though. X pipe is know to rob one from lower end torque as well. And no, it's going to be stock apart from the exhaust and the intake. No intention to blow up the engine on something so precious by adding boost. But first things first. Cross my fingers so I can get the house so I actually have a place to put it, and naturally the availability of one of those 505's! italiogem76 -> I'd love to get my hands on a non ABS (and thus LSD) car, but if that's not possible, and if the ABS works... what the heck... If it breaks, the car should still brake without it. Although I've heard from someone that when the ABS goes out on a 505 all breaking is gone?
  23. That white MI16 is awesome! That 605 you are talking about is never going to get a title either. Until it's 25 years old you are pretty much out of luck. I wish it was easier to import foreign cars that are newer. I would have had a 406 coupe V6 and a Euro spec MI16 for sure...
