Trevor
Let me know what you guys use in yours. I think that regular motor oil is recommended. I'm using some castrol 10-30, but i wouldn't mind experimenting with something else. My gears don't feel all that happy. They are kind of chunky and it has a hard time getting into 2nd sometimes. august
how about some 20w50?
Toni Lindroos
Peugeot (owner's manual from 1985) recommends Esso Uniflo 10W-40 mineral oil at least in Europe. The same oil is still available. I'm using that and I haven't had any problems so far. Some people are also using Redline MT-90 which could also be better than regular mineral oil. Bean
Redline 80-90 NS gear oil. The NS means No-Slip - it's a friction additive for the synchros. I run it in my 505 STI ICE/Dirt racer and the BA/7 in that car is the slickest shifting tranny I've EVER experienced. It gets flogged with two other guys besides me and it awesome - even in -40C race days! (So no worries about it being too heavy - plus gear oil uses a different viscosity index so it's closer than you think.) Bonus is running it in the LSD - locks up the LSD quite a bit more than stock... Rabin

Trevor
Viscosity indices according to http://www.micapeak.com/info/oiled.html Interesting stuff, 90 seems like it covers a large portion of the higher index, i wonder if something like 75-85 would be a good choice... if they even make that. :--)
august
i'd like to try redline 80w90 NS.. my tired ba10 is now shifting marginal when cold, but when its hot, its a hassle.. i remember running MTL and it sucking bad, but maybe the NS formula will rock compared to the MTL formula? hmm http://www.redlineoil.com/products_gearlub...=60&subcatID=
