norcal505
Hello all. Today, I was out at an autocross meet, and after leaving, I decided to stop by to get some food. When I was getting out of my 505, I was closing the Passenger Side Sun Visor (which was pulled to the side), and by accident, hit my rear view mirror and broke it off. It seems that the glue on the back (holding it to the windsheild came off). When I got home, I told some friends and they lauged at me for being such a clutz. Does anyone have information on what the special glue is to back the mirror?? ANY HELP Appricetated!!!
Bean
Talk to your local windsheild place - or go to Pep Boys or something. They should have the adhesive needed to just glue it back... Windsheild place would likely just do it for free - so I'd check there. Rabin
august
as rabin said, i'd suggest checking with a specialty place. i've had to glue the mirror back on a 505 i used to have. i bought some 'special' glue for doing that kind of thing from Kragen, but it sucked. it fell back off a few months later (even after carefully prepping both surfaces). Again, i'd try to find a specialist.
norcal505
I was @ Kragen today, and I laughed @ the staff's lack of help when trying to find something.
Bean
August is right - go to a windsheild place to get it done. The stuff you get at retail stores is crap. Works for a little while but eventually falls off - usually in a much shorter time! Rabin.
norcal505
Hey !! I got it fixed!! I took it to a Winsheild place about 50 miles from my house, and they did the job. For free. I've been their customer before, so they just did it for free, plus they were closing the shop-up when i got there, so they just did it and left.
