Alternator belt splitting after 10000 km

My daily driver 605 started making noise from the alternator belt, took a closer look and its cracking, the belt is fenor made in germany, good quality, and is tension right, has anyone had similar experience, and why did it fail so soon.

Only thing I can think of is to check all the pulleys & idlers it touches to make sure they're OK both physically for both damage and ease of rotation.

Aside from something getting caught inbetween - only other possibility would be flawed  belt.

I Changed the belt, the old one looks strange, no dry rot, on the outside writing was like new, had couple of deep cracks, on the inside was worn, the tooth's are sharp and it was worn to the fibers, my suspicions is, i had a ATF leak about a year ago, power steering return line split above the belts, changed the timing belt because it was soaked, the alternator and power steering belt looks fine, did not change them, has anyone had similar experience
