anj
The only reason I would put one on is if I was pulling a trailer. Arun
Bean
Heat is the biggest enemy of an auto transmission, and towing a trailer introduces a lot of heat to the transmission fluid. 2nd would be dirty / old oil. If you're in a very hot climate, then a cooler still might be a good idea, but an external oil filter might be a better option to plumb in if you don't tow with the car. If you do put in an oil cooler, one with a thermostat to allow the oil to reach operating temp before cooling is the best option so that the transmission doesn't run with oil that's too cool. Just like an engine - they work best with the oil in a specific range of temps. Rabin
