  3. If one of you wants the data to get a 505T Registry going, send me a PM. It's reasonably well decoded and I guess there are just over 1700 505s listed. I think this is a list of all Peugeots that ever were registered in Washington, not those that are necessarily there still. Some of the 404s I got in the list have been recently spotted in other jurisdictions. I also have the Counties in which they were registered.

  5. Today I got a list of all Peugeots that have ever been registered in the State of Washington USA, 2880 cars in all. Among these are four 404 Cabriolet. 2 of these are already registered: one is now in Oregon and the other is in Australia! The other 404 Cabriolets are: 4498474, Cabriolet Carburator, location: Washington State USA 6803091, Cabriolet Injection, location: Washington State USA Total: 1715 !
  6. Hey André, thanks! If you do ask California about that, be sure to just get a data dump for all Peugeots. Then we could all share the data. Make sure you ask if there is a cost for this data (number of records etc) first though. I will share the data I got with you guys once it's sorted. Meanwhile, the oldest Peugeot in WA is 1908 and yeah I have its VIN! As for the 404 Coupé and Cabriolet models, there were 17,225 built, and we now have 1715 of them, so about 10%. For the other 404 models, it's going to be tougher....2.8 million were made and lots of these are in Africa...we have 2500 of the other 404 models so far, closing in on 0.1%....
  7. Hi all, I just got a list of every Peugeot in Washington State form the Department of Licensing. Mostly I was interested in the 404s and I got quite a few of those, but there are a lot more VINs from recent models that I can't easily decode. Koll was talking a while ago about getting a 505 Turbo Registry going and this could be the basis of it. Could you folks give me a hand by telling me the post-1980 VIN syntax of the different models? There are 2843 cars in the file I got.

  9. Peter Teuffel bought this car in France in 2012 and sent its number to me today: 4594950, Carrosserie 6664, Cabriolet Injection 1965, Bleu Ciel 1041, LEONBERG GERMANY We already had this car registered by Carrosserie number only, but now the VIN is confirmed.
  10. After a several week long dry spell, this one came into the Registry site this morning: 6800990, Cabriolet Injection 1968, bought by the current owner in 1982, interior upholstery Noir (paint colour not indicated), very good condition, TEHRAN IRAN ( ! ) Total: 1713 !

  13. Frikken ugly would be a kind description. The European ones are all diesels so I guess it was easier to drop a gas guzzler engine in there. However, I see a 4 banger diesel is available. Semi-interesting....
  14. I was wrong about Fiat and Peugeot giving up on the commercial vehicle joint venture (Sevelsud); it was the minivan cooperative venture of Sevelnord that they quit on. So a Ducato would be Boxer-able, if it matters to anyone.

  16. Peter Teuffel told me this morning that he is in contact with the owner of a 404 Coupé Injection in Africa: 4599944, Coupé Injection 1967, EAK-80100 MOMBASA KENYA I haven't got a photo or any other information on this car yet, but if I do, I will post it here. Total: 1709 !

  18. Hi Rabin, I have three offspring in the University of Victoria at the moment and the "Dad Bank" is paying the bill. Once I am down to one student (I hope in a couple more years) the restoration will begin. I assure you that I willl post a restoration thread here as it goes along. I am going to have to pay a pro to do the bodyshell. Back to the main theme, we've been "beating the bushes" in Portugal this week for 404 C models and this is the latest fruit of that work, thanks to Miguel R. for the photos and for passing the information on to Le Club 404: 4499200, Carrosserie 110xx, Coupé Carburator 1966, Bleu Ciel 1041, Grey seats, Car is for sale in January 2013, 5000 Euros is the asking price, it is probably worth 3000, LISBON PORTUGAL Total: 1707!

I don't yet have the serial number for this car (the main plate is missing) but thanks to an important contact in the Netherlands, we do have the carrosserie number, which allows us to register the car: Carrosserie No. 14190, Cabriolet Carburator 1968, Blanc Arosa 1132, Black leather, car was originally from Belgium, serial number plate is missing, KOEWACHT NETHERLANDS Total: 1705!
  21. Consider applying some thicker 3M Stoneguard to the new lights, I have had great success with that stuff. You could d not do all the weird compound curves but at least the main exposed face could be covered.
