Toni Lindroos
I found this information from a French magazine (Auto Hebdo #422, 1984) that tested a 505 with Peugeot-Talbot Sport "kit 200 ch" (or "kit 200 hp"). Diagram (cam 200 hp): AOA: 28° RFA: 76° AOE: 82° RFE: 22° Valve lift: 10 mm Diagram (stock N9T cam): AOA: 19°34 RFA: 56°26 AOE: 55°10 RFE: 12°50 Values for stock cam are almost the same that are listed in the first message. Only RFA is 56°26 vs. 56°24. Typo in the magazine or in the message? But what about the "kit 200 hp" cam which should be the Danielson cam or do we have another different cam profile? I know those values in the first message are directly from Politecnic but I don't know how that French magazine got theirs.
august
interesting, the values in the first message i think were posted to Peugeot-L by a member (i forget who) who got a cam from politecnic, and had it checked. hmm, it actually looks like those are specs from V-M! http://www.vectorbd.com/peugeot/archive/Ge...2/Feb/0193.html From: venkenberg ([email protected]) Date: Sat 16 Feb 2002 - 03:48:51 EST # Next message: venkenberg: "Re: Danielson cam specs???" * Previous message: venkenberg: "Re: Odd/Old spares" * In reply to: leeferland: "Danielson cam specs???" * Next in thread: venkenberg: "Re: Danielson cam specs???" * Reply: venkenberg: "Re: Danielson cam specs???" * Messages sorted by: [ date ] [ thread ] [ subject ] [ author ] --- In peugeot-L@y..., "leeferland" <shelby987@h...> wrote: > Joe says he thinks the stock cam can be reground to match the > Danielson cam specs...any thoughts anyone??? > and does anyone have the specs that i would need for this cam? > thanks > -Lee I have posted these earlier also... V-M
At what lift is that duration measured? 0.050"? I have not verified by measuring my self, but my understanding is at usually all European manufacturers inform with 0 lift and separately state if there is 0.05" lift results. Johnny
Ok, can a cam-grinder regrind a std-cam based on these specs? Approximately how much would it cost?
august
Ok, can a cam-grinder regrind a std-cam based on these specs? Approximately how much would it cost? the cam on the project 505turbo.com is using a reground stock cam to the danielson specs above. it was pretty reasonable from a known good regrinder. about $150 USD

Johnny
That sounds really cheap to me. Did you give the grinder the specs above or did he have "his own"? I asked a known cam-grinding company in sweden, Enem how much it would cost to grind a std cam to the specs above, but the guy couldn't tell how much it would cost just based on the specs above. If u need one, I can help. I can provide ready package or u can sent your current one to me or directly to grinder. Then of cause sending cost's are nearly same as grinding but just if u need help. I have special grinding model for dani cam (making model cost's same as grinding cam -> 80€) and there is one model in grinder which have bit milder but have more lift (I have used both). Also I have (original) new set's of rockers. V-M

I'll try and get someone to grind it for me here in sweden, but if anything else fails, I'll send you a pm.

Peder
Johnny, i want a cam regrinded too, maybe we can kill two birds with one stone and do it together? We might get it cheaper then! Think Enem are so damn expensive, last time i talked to them they wanted 275Euros And that was a few years ago! Or perhaps V-M can help us?! Cant cost that much to send a cam to Finland and back! //Peder
Johnny
I'm definitly interested in killing birds with stones Where are you from Peder? Hmmm... 275€ is too much Must be cheaper to send it to Finland.
Peder
Im from Gotland. Not too many grinders here in sweden that knows how to grind turbocams, i have talked to a few but they didnt want to do it. Think the shipping to Finland comes to about 300sek (cant remember how much a cam weighs). I will search around some more after grinders, but i think Finland is a good option. //Peder
Johnny
Cool to have another swede here A cam weighs just under 5 kg. 300sek for shipping is not that bad, It'll be around 1500sek total then.
Peder
I would guess that the grinding price depends on if they have a model to grind after, just as V-M says! Talked to another dude who said that it cost about 1200sek at enem! I would really prefer to get a straight answer from enem, but they are so big that they probably dont care about us small time tuners... //Peder
Johnny
I think I have translated the letters in the first post. AOA = Opening of intake BTDC RFA = Closing of intake ABDC AOE = Opening of exhaust BBDC RFE = Closing of exhaust ATDC Croisement = Overlap Assuming the lobes are symmetrical, I calculated the lobe separation to 121.5 degrees, could this be correct? V-M
lobe is between 102-114 usually. V-M
