  1. Also - took the bus from San Diego up Folsom (Sacramento) yesterday. Here with my crew team for the national championships. I threw out my back (again) so I'm here as a spare... aka chillin' like a villain. It's gonna hit 100 in the latter part of the week too..yikes. André, which beach do you frequent? I've been surfing a lot more recently since it's been consistently warm. Here's a funny shot a friend took last week. Try to get which ones of us are the rowers and which one is our coxswain (the guys who sits in front of the boat and yells)
  2. Look around craigslist. I'd try using craigfind.com to search multiple cities at one time. Also check copart.com's inventory. Best of luck, Sina
  3. Don't know why, but for some reason it was exceptionally nice out on tonight's coastal ride.
  4. my famed flow [to my friends and family] is no more.
  5. Haha is that the one with the 4-lug wheels? BTW GL with the sale! Sad that Kevin left the fold, and now you are doing the same. Have a feeling you'll be back sooner or later. Cheers Sina
  6. Thanks man I appreciate the words on my car. I'm going to have it repainted end of next month to its original factory color though. It's currently a faded crappy paint job that was done in I want to say...'97 or '98? And not the original Peugeot color code. This is what it'll be. Note how it looks unique in different shades of light. Also, yeah, I think the US bumpers may seem gargantuan, and I did want to convert them to euros a little while back, but I think I'll stick with 'em. They're part of the car that's in my memories from my childhood. I was home this past weekend with the family, and heard some great stories about the car from my relatives so that was nice. Sina
  7. Spotted 4 peugeots today. One v6 505 in sf this morning, 1 in Belmont, and 2 in palo alto (one 504, one 505 blue gl)
  8. Yes! You've got my attention now. Price sounds on point ~ my rear windshield was replaced only a few years ago, and is OEM Peugeot with the lion logo. Don't know how my father went about finding that shop - I think it was done right before I got my driver's license. Gotta love a fully-working defroster! I think my front windshield is about due for replacement. Again, a few years ago, my car was vandalized several times in my neighborhood. Each time it got vandalized, the tires were punctured, but one time, the vandal/asshole(s) used some sort of razor-edged object to scratch up the front windshield. Essentially, they scribbled over the whole windshield with the object, so that whenever it rains/water is poured upon the glass, it the scratches surface and you can't see a thing in front of you.... Yep. Mine's got the same gaskets of the chrome-crap variety alright. ~Sina
  9. Good eye Andre! I'm going to take a closer look when I see the car tomorrow night. Sina
  10. ^ Nick, I appreciate it! If you happen to hold on to these somewhere for a little bit, possibly by the end of the summertime, I'll have a little bit more disposable funds to buy them as spares! Also, IIRC, you once mentioned that these lights' boards go bad sooner than the -88 style ones, so I'll have to keep you in mind. Best, Sina
  11. Yes! Time to make a move to the best coast That would be awesome. When made, count me in for two Larges. Also, I think a FB event should be made as soon as we agree on a tentative date. Maybe setup a poll on the group? Yes! Definitely.
  12. That looks like a dope little cabby. The VEMS standalone is definitely cool and the Ronal's look pretty nice.
  13. Or maybe two or three So with some of the spare time I have my hands now and again, I find myself looking at photos of my car. Something that caught my eye recently was the rear end's lines. In many photos, it looks almost as if the right tail light is sorta crooked. Also, I'm aware that my center trim piece is kinked-up on the passenger side - but I believe that's the piece itself being warped. How as I initially thought that this may have been an error in the shop that did the rear-end repair last summer, I flipped through some photos of my car, from way before the accident actually even occured. What do you guys think? Below are some photos of the car, from before the accident (note the panels are all the same color ), and after the accident. Hope you guys aren't bothered by my O.C.D Cheers, Sina
  14. always a treat to see what you're up to andré. do you think that you'll be able to bring it out to this year's meet? best, sina
  15. here is something you also don't see everyday. thought it was funny enough to share. these were taken back in mid-march when i came home for a few days. those who went to the meet last summer should recognize this road. one of my good friends' ae86 "hachiroku"
  16. I think the final opinion is 215/40 17 in the front and 235/40 17 in the rear (If I decide to keep it staggered with 8.5's in the rear). I reached this conclusion after consulting the R3VLimited/Bimmerforums "wheel fitment expert/moderator", as well as a few other guys. He said I could achieve this with only rolling the rears, but I think I'm going to roll the fronts as well. He showed me a few of his clients' cars that had the same if not similar fitments, and they looked pretty good, and since it'll be obtainable w/o stretch, I think everything's gonna work out fine The 45's are a little too tall for the e30's fenders, and my E30 is a 1988+ model (91) so it has the lower rear arches. All in all, nothing's been mounted, mocked, or tested yet - hell, maybe it'll all be a little too "donkish" for my taste...we'll see. Sina
  17. These are 245/35/17's all around... same dimensions on these wheels (Double Spoke II's) as on the Contour II's.
  18. Fair enough, as I was only cruising around the streets which had stoplights. I got to get David's 505 (on FB group) up to a little higher revs and had the best grounds to test it on - miles of twisties in the Berkeley hills. Definitely got to feel the boost come on, and it was nice. Also, stretched tires?! I thought you should know me by now Rabin Not a far of the hella flush look. I'm generally not a fan of the slammed car look, I don't see any glamor in ruining a car's ride and handling. @Stavo - yep those eta's are slugs. I'd say, the "non-turbo diesel 505's" of our community. And for the record, the adapters aren't meant to be permanent, as soon as I have the disposable income to do so, I'm planning on doing a true 5-lug swap using E36 318ti bits and such. I know I'm gonna want some bigger brakes all around for the added weight. The m42 engine really is good for what it is. I had a 24V swap from an e36 on the top of my list originally, but I realized that what I have does the job pretty well, and the M42 makes great torque. Fuel efficient too. 19. Oh I wouldn't doubt it...what model does he have? There is a famous advertisement for the 505 T.I. (1986, I think?) which pretty much dissed BMW's E30 325 (m20b25 engine). I had the chance to drive Victor Van Tress' famous 505TI Stock racer last summer in Berkeley, and I honestly think it's just as fast, if not quicker than my E30 (m42b18 engine). http://www.flickr.com/photos/norcal505/7990639514/'> http://www.flickr.com/photos/norcal505/7990639514/'>Got to drive my childhood dream car by http://www.flickr.com/people/norcal505/'>sina.pour, on Flickr Here's my E30 for reference... http://www.flickr.com/photos/norcal505/7607232138/'> http://www.flickr.com/photos/norcal505/7607232138/'>Untitled by http://www.flickr.com/people/norcal505/'>sina.pour, on Flickr Sina
  20. Whoa Matt, where have you been man!! It's been ages. Hope all is well, and hope you can make it out to our 2nd annual west coast Peugeot meet this summer in the bay. We had a pretty sick turnout last year, and hit up spots in Oakland, Berkeley, and SF. Are you still in Benicia? Shoot me an email man. spourcyrous [at] gmail.com Best, Sina
  21. Picked up some 5-lug adapters for my E30 a few weeks ago [putting on flame-suit]. I know a lot of guys talk trash about adapters, but the manufacturer of these adapters swears by them, and is well-known, and active in the BMW community. The adapters are 18mm and 20mm, respectively. I will be installing them in a reverse-stagger setup, to maintain a stagger, yet not ridiculous amount of poke in the rear. To go along with the new 5-lug setup, I pulled the trigger on a set of Contour II's off of an E36 M3. They are 17x7.5 and 8.5 in the rear. Will need to have the fenders rolled definitely. Also need to find some new rubber to wrap them in, so if anyone has any recommendations for 205/40 F 215/40 R or 215/40 F 235/40 R let me know! Wheels look like this. Pretty good finish too. These will most likely be temporary until I can track down a set of M-System's off of the E34 M5 with the famous "throwing star" covers.
