  1. Well your 505 sounds very different from mine, but similar in a few aspects. Unlike yours, mine is a turbo diesel with an automatic 3-speed so it is pretty tame, But it has the same great suspension and the older styed interior (super compfy). I've had some problems with my 505 in the past few years but never anything to major. At the same time, I've had alot of fun too. I think the worst it ever treated me is it died at the movie theatre one night and I had to come back to it the next day. Turned out to be the starter bendix going bad. The vaccum pump vent out on it too once, leaving me without power brakes. That was a fun weak (I was a seinor in high school at the time). But all in all, for me it has been a great car and as much as I tried to abuse it the car seemed to take it and keep on ticking. Right now, I'm saving up the 505 funds and am going to rebuild a seperate/spare XD2S cylinder head and turbo I have laying around.
  2. I want to say the auction went up to around 6k but I do not think the reserve was met.
  3. Nice pair of pugs. Which one is your favorite?
  4. lots of great pictures here.... desktopmachine.com
  5. thanks. Currently it is in storage, I'm going to repaint the top surfaces with a fresh coat of Metallic gold hopefully sometime this winter or spring. The original paint is starting to show its age. It might also be getting a 505 turbo spoiler on the trunk lid and a newly rebuilt cylinder head here pretty soon. Depends on my $$$ situation.
  6. Yeah on a more realistic note, I would like having a very clean, low mileage 88-89' turocharged 505 sedan with the 5-speed tranny. One of those with some upgrades would produce quite a smile on my face.
  7. I've been a proud Peugeot owner for the past five years and love my 505. What would be your dream Peugeot to own and drive? For the weekends and touring I would have to choose the RC concept super car.... http://s2.desktopmachine.com/pics/Peugeot-RC06-1024.jpg For bumming around in the city streets and getting from A to B the 407 silhouette concept car would do nicely. http://s2.desktopmachine.com/pics/Peugeot_407_66-1024.jpg
  8. Thats right, I forgot about that one. Another great scene. But Hollywood screwed up in that one unlike "Ronin". Peugeot > BMW
  9. What other cars/vehicles do you have and drive? If you have photos share 'em. I have a 1982 SAAB 900 Turbo I use as my daily driver. And I also have a 1982 Yamaha XJ650 Maxim Motorcycle as my fair weather weekend toy.
  10. There was a 504 convertible almost identical (if not this car) on ebay some years back. Its was an awesome car. I wanted it bad.
  11. That car chase scene in "Ronin" with the Peugeot chasing the BMW is the best car chase scene in a movie period, its great no matter how many times I watch that movie. Columbo drives an older Peugeot convertible. 403 i think? The bad guy in the Jet Li movie "Kiss Of the Dragon" drives a Peugeot 607. There are some more I am forgetting too.... I know Jim Morrison (lead singer of the Doors) rented a peugeot when he moved to Paris in 1971 (he had good taste).
  12. I've seen most of these before, that blue one with the whale tale boeing 747 wing is pretty funny looking. While I was scrolling through these I was crossing my fingers I wouldn't see some shots of my 505 in this thread.
  13. wow, Blackie sounds like it is much much more powerful than I ever imagined. I remember finding videos of Blackie doing burnouts and racing a toyota Mr2 when i was in high school like 5 years ago. Its cool to know that the car is still being driven and well kept. You have a very nice car Pugnut. I knew the 88-89 turbo 505's were beefy but I never thought they would have anywhere near to 220hp to the rear wheels. Thats... inspiring. If that car is ever for sale, let me know!
  14. glad to hear there is another strong running 505 out on the streets somewhere! Congrats on the successful rebuild!
  15. I just got here and am glad I stumbled upon the place. I think a peugeot forum is a great step in the right direction for us pug owners. Keep up the great work! So far it looks like a great and informative forum.
  16. I'm really glad I stumbled upon this site tonight. I've been a huge peugeot fan ever since I got my first car. A 1983 Peugeot 505s turbo diesel with XD2S engine. My grandfather bought the car new and about 5 years ago when I was still in high school I inherited it after he passed away. Eversince then this car has been my pride in joy and I'll never let go of it. I've done quite a few things to it over the years, hopefully for the better. My modifications include the following.... -Custom two tone paint with factory Metallic Gold laquer and Black Imron. -Shaved side lamps and door guards. -Debadged trunk lid -Headlight housing painted metallic gold (originally silver). - Window Smoke Tint (20% side glass, 15% rear glass) -Custom Painted Gold and Black Peugeot 505 2.0iSTI 15"x6" Alloy Wheels (originally silver) -Yokohama 205/60/HR15 ES100 Advanced Vehicle System rotational tires (more on page 2) -Rebuilt Bosch Fuel Injection Pump with 15% fuel flow increase. -Custom true HID headlight conversion using Sylvannia Xenarc 5006 bulbs. -Custom Magnaflow 3" turboback aluminized performance exhaust. -Stainless Steal Magnaflow exhaust tip. -Autometer Z-series boost guage 0-35psi Below are some pictures of my car since I've owned it. Here it is during the high school days, all original. Here is the car being repainted during January of 2003. Here is the finished product, with the 15" STi wheels on board... close up of the 15" custom painted 505 STi wheels... I'm really glad there is a Peugeot forum up and running. I know I will be spending alot of time on here now that I've found the place. Hope you guys enjoy my 505, if you have any questions or comments about it feel free to email me at [email protected] For more pictures and information about my car check out my cardomain site at.... http://www.cardomain.com/ride/319350/1
