  1. That french forum seems really uptight and picky. I took French for two years in highschool, but that was awhile ago and I have long forgotten anything useful.
  2. Must have the XD2 or the XD2S from the looks of that engine shot.
  3. I'm running on 205-55-R15 Yokohama AVS ES100. They look about right in my opinion.
  4. Nope its all original. All I did was polish some of aluminum pieces and clean it up. I might have a couple of pieces chrome plated or powder coated and put a new exhaust on it in the future.
  5. Only 14? wow, i've heard that before but i guess i never really took it seriously. Were 99% of them automatics? Or did they not make many turbo charged sedans in 89? It would be a shame since thats one of the best years for the 505. And I agree, black is sexy on the 505. I love it on mine (even though its only about 50% black).
  6. Very nice! That looks crazy fast! Whats it run in the 1/4 mile?
  7. I like the yellow, suprisingly its a great color on late model 505. The body of his car is in great shape too, no door dings etc. and I've always liked the look of the shaved door guards and moldings. I didn't notice the mi16 steering wheel either, thats kinda cool. The fiero spoiler works too, I'm just not wild about the wheels.
  8. I stumbled over this 505 on cardomain while updating my page. It looks like its in pretty good shape. Although I'm not completely wild about some of this guys modifications. In my opinion it would look better with different wheels (the factory peugeot wheels look alright) and the factory 505 grill intead of the 406 one. Other wise its not to bad. Theres a couple other interesting peugeots on cardomain as well. http://www.cardomain.com/ride/710642/1
  9. I need a complete set (front and rear) of the 8valve shock absorbers for an 83' 505s sedan. My shocks are starting to feel mushy. If you have a set of factory peugeot shocks new or rebuilt let me know I would definetly be interested in either. Pics would be great!
  10. Any of you guys ride? If so what do you have or what have you had in the past? I have a 82' Yamaha Maxim XJ650. Its my first bike, powered with an in-line 650cc four cylinder engine, 5-speed tranny, and shaft drive. I know Peugeot used to make motorcycles make in the 1930s-1940s. It would be sweet to get one and restore it. Feel free to share gentlemen, Here is a pic and stats of my Yamaha... Engine Type: 653 cc, Inline 4 Stroke, Air Cooled Engine Bore/Stroke: 63 mm x 52.4 mm Valves: 2 valves per cylinder Transmission: 5-speed Final Drive: Shaft Seat Height: 30.7 inches Dry Weight: 509.3lbs Max. Horsepower: 71hp@9400rpm Max. Torque: 42lbs@7200rpm Top Speed: 127mph 1/4Mile Time/Speed: 12.7@103mph 0-60mph Time: 4.8 seconds Fuel Economy: 40/45mpg

    hello people

welcome aboard and good luck finding a nice 505.
  12. Thats is probably the nicest 405Mi16 I have ever seen. It is remarkably clean, especially considering how old it is. Looks great, definetly comparable to a new car. Color is good and the exhaust looks good as well. Nice car.
  13. For some of us not familiar with eachothers cars I thought it might be a good topic to share information, modificaions, future plans, and pictures about our peugeots. Here is the full scoop on mine... My peugeot is an 83' Turbo Diesel 505s. My grandfather bought it new in California and I inherited it almost five years ago when I turned 17. It served as a great car for high school and I had alot of fun it it as well. No matter how hard I tried this good old car could not be killed off, which earned it the nickname "The Tank". The car started out being metallic gold with 14" alloy wheels. After high school I decided I wanted to keep it and put some money and work into it. With alot of help from my father I sanded down the sides and blocked them flat using feather fill and automotive filler, removing the dents and door dings. I also used this oppertunity to remove the plastic door guards and shaved side-lamps for good giving the car a much sleeker look. After installing new galvanized rocker panels and repairing other rusted areas the car was ready for primer and paint. We both agreed a two tone color scheme would look good and decided to paint the sides with Black Imron. After the bodywork and paintjob were completed I had the windows tinted and fitted a set of newly acquired 15" STi alloy wheels with yokohama tires. For the custom touch I painted the rims to match the paint scheme of the car. My complete modification list is... -Custom two tone paint with factory Metallic Gold laquer and Black Imron. -Shaved side lamps and door guards. -Debadged trunk lid -Headlight housing painted metallic gold (originally silver). - Window Smoke Tint (20% side glass, 15% rear glass) -Custom Painted Gold and Black Peugeot 505 2.0iSTI 15"x6" Alloy Wheels (originally silver) -Yokohama 205/60/HR15 ES100 Advanced Vehicle System rotational tires (more on page 2) -Rebuilt Bosch Fuel Injection Pump with 15% fuel flow increase. -Custom true HID headlight conversion using Sylvannia Xenarc 5006 bulbs. -Custom Magnaflow 3" turboback aluminized performance exhaust. -Stainless Steal Magnaflow exhaust tip. -Autometer Z-series boost guage 0-35psi Future Plans are... -Repaint Gold Surfaces -Rebuild Spare XD2S cylinder head -Rebuild Garrett turbocharger -Install front mount Intercooler -Install Propane Injection system -Intstall 2nd Generation 505 turbo spoiler -Reapoulster seats in two-toned black/gold leather -Upgrade to a ZF 4HP22 4-speed automatic transmission (I'll probably actually never do this, but its on the list anyway).
  14. Thats hot! I love the widebody. Actually I love everything except that trunk spoiler. That front strut brace is nice too, I wonder where I could acquire on of those?
  15. I'm not too wild about either of those really. What I did for my 505 was acquire a set of early 15" STi alloys and repainted them to match the paint scheme of my car. I got these from George at Sunsetcoachmen.com, he treated me ok on the price. I like these for their looks and they are also fairly light yet strong wheels. I put Yokohama AVS ES100 tires on them and they perform great.
  16. I just had the Bosch pump rebuilt on my XD2S so it should be like brand new. I had the rebuild shop also increase the fuel flow 15% with thoughts of increasing boost down the road. It runs pretty good with the exception that the fuel injector closest to the firewall keeps fouling out, which is odd because I had all four fuel injectors cleaned and rebuilt at the same time I rebuild the pump. I don't why exactly I havn't tracked it down yet. When all four are working the car runs and drives incredibly. Acceleration is smooth and nice, when the fourth injector is fouled it creates a noticeable amount of black smoke out of the exhaust and is much slower on acceleration. Any thoughts or advice?
  17. Where can I find factory replacement shocks for an 83' 505 sedan? In the United States perferably. I'd rather not put KYB shocks in unless I have too.
  18. I think your right. I don't know why I thought it was for the N9T. Its obviously a N/A manifold as stated above.
  19. I saw this tonight looking at 505 parts on ebay. I wonder if its the real deal and if it would actually be a benefit. Looks a little rusty, with some bead blasting in a media blaster then painted with high temp paint it would look good enough. Probably for the N9T engine I would guess. Not the best description here. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/peugeot-505...027551500QQrdZ1 "High performance tube header for peugeot 4 cylinder, early pushrod 505, maybe other engines. E-mail questions, study the pictures, maybe we can figure out if it works on yours!? This is a rare aftermarket part I think it's from Argentina. Label says Escapessilens. It must not have been used much if at all, mostly surface rust from sitting around. Buyer pays actual shipping cost. Thanks!"
  20. Car looks great. Very clean and nice. Your website is pretty cool as well.
  21. The older peugeot diesel engines in the 505s are not to powerful but what they lack up for in muscle they back up in reliability and longevity. I saw one that had over 900,000 miles on it. My 82' 505 has the turbocharged XD2S 4 cylinder diesel engine. I added a 3" performance exhaust with a magna flow high flow muffler and had the mechanical fuel injection pump rebuilt with a 15% fuel flow increase. I did notice quite a difference in peppiness with those two modifications. But still it is by no means a land rocket. About two years ago I purchased a seperate XD2S, I havn't touched it yet but I'm hoping to remove the top end and have it completely rebuilt and dropped into my 505 sedan. As for performance goes I have very modest goals. I'd like to shoot for about 200 lbs of torque at redline, i'd be very happy if I could muster that out of the timid XD2S. Any suggestions to acquire that goal would be greatly appreciated. My thoughts were for starters was to construct a cold air intake with a larger K&N cone filter, custom smaller front mount intercooler, rebuilt Garrett turbocharger, manual boost controller, propane injection system, fuel flow increase (done), and 3" exhaust (done). Modifying a peugeot diesel probably dosn't make much sense because one will never be all that impressive but I really love my car and think the challenge will be a fun goal. Plus it would be all the more unique which makes it so worth while in my eyes.
  22. Those are pretty cool looking and having wider 16" wheels on a 505 would look/perform nicely. On my turbo-diesel 505 I upgraded to the early 80s 505 2.0L STI 15" wheels and painted them to match. I thought they turned out pretty nice, its about the only alternative I found to getting better wheels.
  23. I think the forum looks great. And if I had any peugeot friends besides you guys I'd tell them about it.
  24. That XD2 is gorgeous! I wonder if that is the factory aix intake because my XD2S is quite different. Looks like new though, very nice.
