  1. I'm planning on repainting my 89 V6 and am in need of the color code its silver, but i was thinking of going with a red I had an 89 V6 parts car that was painted the nicest red, it was a darker more metalic red. I'm thinking of changing the color to that
  2. I shouldn't have a problem modding anything for it to work. a trip just a few weeks ago to the san Rafael desert the fuel pump went out on the rover 150 miles one way to the nearest parts store and of course they didn't have a rover pump on the shelf but they did have a chevy pump it works great haha. the fuel gauge in the peugeot always acted funny so i'm probably going to pop it apart and see whats up i got two of them the one i'm sure is bad it was in the 89 red v6 5spd that was wrecked about a decade ago that still had fuel in it the worst smelling fuel i ever smelt. I also picked up a rear diffuser off a dodge viper that i gotta install when the tanks in. car seemed to get a little squirly around 120 hopefully that will fix it
  3. nah i really don't know the spring rate at all it is a experiment for sure i'll let you know how it turns out i'm dropping the hubs off at the machine shop tomorrow. I believe they are a progressive spring and i think i cut out the progressive part i hope. the peugeot a arm set up makes it hard to find springs, but i'm hoping the rover springs will fix it
  4. I just put some springs on the rear of my v6 off of my rover. I lifted the rover so i had the stockers laying around I believe they are stiffer than the stock rear springs on the peugeot. I put them in and jacked up on one a arm and took measurements between the stockers and the rover springs, and the rover springs started to lift the car earlier than the stock ones. I havent gotten it on the wheels and on the ground yet. still working on getting the 18's to fit the hubs. It'll be interesting to see if the rover springs work they are a hair bit wider but not much best thing of all is you can get aftermarket ones in all sorts of different spring rates. I forget how many pounds my new ones are on the rover but i can haul almost 700 pounds of additional shit
  5. I ordered a tank it is 10.5 inches deep so the stock sending unit and everything should work i can modify the sending unit for that tank if i have to. It is out of a ford torino haha 26 gallon filler is on passenger side i'll make it work if i have to i'll drill holes in it to weld the peugeot set up in it. I also ordered a walbro 255 fuel pump i'll just use one then.
  6. I'm going to be mounting a fuel tank under my trunk either a 32 gallon or a 40 gallon. I'm probably going to put in a walbro 255 intank pump. My question is if I switch the fuel pressure regulator to an adjustable one is there any power to be gained??? I have an intake and exhaust with a high flow cat on it and the injectors have been cleaned and blueprinted.
  7. it seems nobody wants me to go to manual brakes haha I'd go to manual steering too if I could find a rack at a decent price!
  8. It's a non abs car already. as far as manual brakes go I'd have a harder shorter pedal than if I had power brakes, But I should have the same performance but with out the luxury of a soft easy pedal.
  9. The power brake booster went out on the V6 which equals difficult to find. I'm thinking of going to manual brakes. If memory serves me right the power master cylinder should work fine. I believe that the rod sticks into it about an inch or so. I just don't know the bore of it, I'm hoping that it is around one inch anyone know??? any other thoughts on the subject??? I'm prepared to fab things up on it change mounting points for the rod on the pedal for better leverage and so on.
  10. 1. any internal engine or transmission repair. Never had to 2. removed the steering column haha 3. removed the dash 4. never painted one I have done 1. switched a V6 from an automatic to a 5spd 2. rebuilt front struts 3. changed automatic trans valve bodys I actually had a diesel fuel tank rust out on me?!?!?!
  11. the correct name for the nipples are bungs all you gotta do is measure the out side diameter of the where it clamps fast to the throttle body and both ends of the mass air flow sensor. I went with a filter the same diameter of the sensor I found everything on Ebay I could measure it for you i just forgot the sizes
  12. I sourced all the parts on line it's easy just measure the size pipe you need and silicon couplers. You will need to have nipples welded onto it for the things going into the pipe like the breather and such. It's easy to do. I'm toying with the idea of putting in an all aluminum V8 with a 6 spd cts V engine tranny and rear. I need more power and it would be so much cheaper than twin turboing the V6
  13. Switch it out The sound is so much better too
  14. search ebay for a universal rad measure your dimensions and they have close ones this where i got both of mine and they work great! http://stores.ebay.com/UNIVERSAL-PARTS-INC/_i.html?_fsub=10
  15. If you're looking for better mpg I've been eye balling the VW Touareg V10 Tdi. That's a tow rig and a rocket ship. I have heard that you can chip them to get 700 pound feet of torque.
  16. Was that 89 V6 a blood red with charcoal leather interior with a rear spoiler???
  17. great good to hear it went to a good home. Did you happen to be at Carlisle import kit car replica nationals last year??? with your 604 turbo diesel. I was there with both my 505's the V6 and Diesel
  18. o yea and believe me i was scheming on how to con some old friends in pennsylvania on picking it up for me and storing it so i could take a week get it running well and drive it back to colorado butttttt haha i'm dreaming. its good it went to a good home besides you cant drive them all at once anyways
  19. http://richmond.craigslist.org/cto/2243888534.html If i still lived in pennsylvania I wouldn't be posting it on here. I'd be buying it
  20. I Bought the splitter off craigslist I forget who makes it but it took a lot of fiberglass work to make it fit. It was intended for a front wheel drive car which has a lot of over hang I cut a lot off of it. I'm thinking of loosing that one and going with a full lenght splitter made of aluminum.
  21. The Land rovers in europe come with diesels so it'll be an easy swap i've even found a guy in grand junction about 4 hours from me that imports and sells the 300 tdi's for them The tent is a Magnolia Extreme. They are super nice! cranks up in 30 seconds 3 inch thick sleeping pad and insulated roof even has a light! You can even keep all your bedding in it and a pillow I keep mine ready to go all the time. great for when your at your friends place and had too much to drink haha. I've always owned peugeots a total of 8 including part cars. the only cars i've had that aren't are. amc eagle buick skylark 1990 pos nissan pathfinder 1995 alfa romeo milano 1986 merkur xr4ti gmc truck 1979 ford focus 2001 As far as peugeot's in the snow they are the only car i'd be driving in the snow. my friend with an audi a4 quattro got stuck following me!! the lights in the back ground of the picture are his.
  22. I was thinking that but wouldn't I want toe in to scrub the outside of the tires??? I had it at a good alignment shop and they couldn't find the factory specs on the toe adjustment. never mind that just looked through my reciepts and they aligned the wrong peugeot haha they did the diesel one and not the V6. I guess that's what happens when you own two peugeot's and take them both to the garage one after another they get them mixed up. I was planning on stringing it up and aligning it myself after the wheels are on
  23. perhaps I'll go that route especially since my camber is way off. I chewed up a set of all but brand new 225 50 15 falkens in about 4000 miles all inside wear. We'll see when I get them, they should be here tomorrow.
