  1. Have you found any Mi16 bumpers? I'm sure some modifications would be required but I don't care and would purchase a set if you can find 2 sets...I'm trying to buy some from a guy I met on FB but he's taking forever and I'm worried hes not actually interested in selling Find me a set of Mi16 bumpers and I'll write you up a DIY on fitting them, haha
  2. The short answer for that car is "You can't, until next year" The long answer is for cars newer than 25 years old you need paperwork from the manufacturer stating that the car conforms to all DOT and EPA standards for the USA (which that RS turbo most certainly does not) and to file paperwork with US customs upon entering the country with the car. The form you need (among others): https://docs.google.com/file/d/1F0SicukgNiqVTCZfW17SOufjhoU3GBJSh-UlHdWZDtUgbLlWkbCuAIHL8xi_/edit?usp=sharing You could try to find what is called a "registered importer" to modify the car to meet US standards, but this is very expensive nowadays and not practical for affordable "normal" cars.

    RockAuto Sucks

they've sent me 8v distributor rotors twice now instead of Mi16 rotors, other than that they haven't been too bad. Peugeot gouges too much for the OEM stuff so no matter who you get it from stateside it's just priced out of reach; in many cases MAKING or adapting your own part would be cheaper
  4. I've pieced together a coilover kit for another car already so I have some idea of what to do, thankfully. Raising the roll center is also a concern after lowering the car, but just bringing the car completely up to date maintenance wise for now is the main focus. If you do have an extra stepper that would be awesome, and thanks for posting the strut measurement. Did you order generic camber plates and adapt them? or fabricate some from scratch?
  5. There are some nice aftermarket pieces available from vendors in the UK, but I'd like to keep the budget reasonable on this one, so I plan to put together my own kit. Plus, once I've done that, the few other Mi16 owners in the US will have a path to cost effective changes as well.
  6. The track car is a 1977 BMW 320i; I don't have a build thread or pics up anywhere yet, but I'll link it here at some point, it has an M20B25 engine from the later 80s 325i swapped in
  7. Hey good idea! I'll tell him that Sina is handling all the FB planning and invites and such
  8. I had fun last year, I'll happily bring the Mi16 up the coast again
  9. I picked this car up last year, I really love the handling even with all the bushings worn out and in need of replacement...it's the most predictable and forgiving street legal FF car I've ever driven I use the car as my daily driver and weekend tow vehicle for my track bike There is a lot to do, I will try to remember to post a picture or two up here as things progress. A knowledgable friend has been helping me learn the ins and outs of working on these cars; so far I've changed out one of the rear wheel bearings, the steering rack, and some other miscellaneous stuff. Some things I am going to be working on in the near future: - Adding a cable/pulley system for the heater/AC flapper (the stepper motor is worn out and at $170 I don't feel like continuously replacing them) - Refresh front end bushings and ball joints - Replace worn clutch - Adjustable front suspension (I will post here once I get worked out what generic camber plates and sleeves you can use). Once all the mechanicals are worked out and I am happy with the car I will most likely have it painted as well, progress will be somewhat slow due to a concurrent track car build I am also working on Edit: If any 405 enthusiasts are on here and can answer any of these questions it would be quite helpful: - What is the stock spring rate? The car is quite balanced and neutral now and I'd like to match my new setup fairly closely to stock - What is the diameter of the strut pistons for the front, both at the top (where it narrows) and the long part
