  1. I'm excited to see what you have come up with!
  2. Same here! I've registered on the forum hoping to get access to some info but have been unable to browse. It looks like I need another level of access to view the parts of the forum I'm after. Maybe we should setup a french section of the forum here and invite them all to 505turbo.com!
  3. Thank you for your post and info VM, and welcome to the forum! We look forward to hearing more about your project.
  4. As long as the Positive Crankcase Ventilation system isn't getting blocked or restricted, it shouldn't be doing any harm. Venting to atmosphere is fine, and in fact suggested for high output engines. Check out the High Performance Engines section of this site: link
  5. Thank you both for your responses, and intrest. I will try to get together a readers-ride section in the near future. Both of you will definitley have a spot reserved!
  6. Hi, Yq397r How much boost are you running? With the upgrades you've performed, plus an air -> air intercooler, I think you should be able to accomplish 200lb. ft. of torque. I've heard of XD2S running higher boost (not sure of the exact number) which was supposedly compareable to a early generation 505 turbo gas. I'll see if I can get some more info for you.
  7. We are thinking of things to add to the site, one is to setup a Readers ride sort-of section. Would any of you be interested in sending some pictures, as well as a description to have posted on the main section of 505turbo.com? We are open to site suggestions, so throw em out if you have any!
  8. Thank you for the info on blackie PugNut! We hope to see more posts on the forum about your other 'project' 505 turbo's! Do you have any pictures you could post?
  9. Great job! ...and thanks for the pictures!
  10. I'd have to say the oxia! After that, i'd have to say 1989 505 Turbo 5sp (14 imported unfortunately ), 405 T16, then the 16v turbocharged 205 rally edition (not sure the model name on that one)
  11. Interesting about the AFM restriction. I was always cuerious as to how much it actually blocked. It seems like if the "Barn Door" style way of metering air really is that restrictive, why has Porsche used it for, what, the past 20 years? Why haven't they switched to MAP?
  12. Yes! I remember that! Do you remember how much it went for?
  13. pinto. (just kidding, i'm all peugeot)
  14. UPDATE! I've been informed this is the US manual, not the finnish manual.. (Thanks Con!)
  15. Thank you for your post Toni! I will definitley have a look at your other scans and upload them in the near future (giving your site credit of course). The picture you posted: here shows the ?EU? spec bumper which has the same trim as the 89+ 505 front bumper which is unavailable to us here in the US. Do you know of any place we may be able to find it over seas?
  16. August loves the Doors I think. !
  17. We've added 3 newly submitted video's to the Images and Videos section. Thanks! New Video's here
  18. This is what NOT to do when rebuilding a motor: Yea... it's good thing that the screws didnt back themselves all the way out. I remember messing with the valve timing to get it right and hand snugging those screws, and i dont remember ever tightening them. Stupid move, but somehow it worked out ok. I would have hate to have trashed the car right after rebuilding the motor... ugh. No wonder it progressively sounded more and more like a tractor every time i started it up. Anyway, i fixed that, retorqued the head, changed the oil again and fixed a few other things. The motor purrs like a kitten! It got its first wash today since it's been running. Next is smog and then fun goodies. I was too late finishing up my work today to get it smogged, the place was closed when i got there :-/ Here's the beast with its new sideskirt... yes only one.. haha. I've yet to put the other one on.
  19. We've uploaded some new material to the Technical section.
