86 505 Turbo - N9TE, BA10/5 manual

PeugeotPilot

My first turbo 505, an '86 model. I drove this home from Calgary when I bought it and it's power was a revelation to me. I'll never forget what it was like to experience the performance of one of these cars for the first time. Sadly, I had no spares and no resources to fix the many little things it needed (it was also the first series II 505 I bought) so I parked it along the fence intending to acquire what it needed and restore it. And then the slough flooded. I came up to check on it several years ago and to my utter horror half of the engine was under water. Once I pulled it out I drained the crankcase and sprayed a pile of penetrating oil into it, but I didn't have the time to pull the engine and inspect it properly. I suspect it's only good for parts now, but one of my goals is to pull out that engine this summer and assess it. The car itself? Probably for parts now. Very sad.
