RichinEd
Needing to install some new tires on a 1980 505, currently running 185s, I'm wondering if I can install 205 width tires? I used to own an '87 STI V6 that I put some 205s on. Car has original steel rims. Richard
Bean
205's will fit - 205-70-14 or 205-60-15 work well. Rabin
casm
The 205/60R15s will definitely fit, but are just wider enough across the tread compared to a 195/65R15 that getting the spare tyre cage closed on our '83 with a 205/60R15 in there was barely doable with great effort. The difference isn't a lot, but it is just enough to make it a pain. We just had the tyres done on our car last week, and stuck with 195/65R15s. Had the best one of the old tyres rotated off to the spare position and closing the cage is now much easier.
