saulinass
Hello, I am a rookie. I have a Peugeot 505, 1984, 2.2-liter turbo petrol injection 110-114kw. good condition car mileage of 100,000 km. but the third cylinder compression does not have enough. I think I need to change the cylinder rings. But with us Lithuania there are no such details and to order the Peugeot center does not have options. Maybe you have to sell the ring set? Or at least you know where I could order them? I would be very grateful for any assistance. Then upload the vehicle photos. I'm sorry if my English is incorrect. Bean
Welcome Saulinass! Your English skills are excellent. A good test is to squirt some oil into each cylinder after doing a compression test, if compression goes up after adding oil it's the rings, if compression stays the same it's the valves that are leaking. Very important to do compression with throttle wide open, and after you adjust valves to spec. I doubt the rings are the issue with such low kilometres, but worth verifying. V-M
Rings are available on some sources still. Most easily you can order them from http://www.deves.com/ or make bit custom way from Oldsmobile 401cid half set but they need to adjusted on size (92mm) and use old oil ring.
