Chris Posted June 15, 2015 Report Share Posted June 15, 2015 Sorry to be at this old topic but I am sick of this condition,you know when the key switch takes many tries to engage the starter. I installed the recommended relay and it works every time but the starter remains engaged with this set up. Today I installed a push button which works with the key on but still can take several tries. So I guess it's not the switch after all? Any ideas? Bean Posted June 15, 2015 Report Share Posted June 15, 2015 Hi Chris, Relay mod is hooked up wrong if it stays engaged. Relay should only get power when the key is in start position - sounds like once starter is getting power it's back feeding the relay which keeps it energized.
