pug505usa
I started to notice oil leaks on the passenger side of my engine... After a closer look I think it comes from the turbo... can this be repaired? have you guys run into this before? Peugeot service manual says it has to be replaced... surely there is another way... Peugeottogo
Are you talking about the oil feed line on top of the turbo housing or the return line on the bottom? If its the top which is likely, the factory line with banjo fitttings can be modified as to purchase the original is prohibitive. You could also be more fortunate that the 12 mm copper crush washers on the banjo fittings are bad.
pug505usa
Thanks Peugeottogo, I am going to take it down and see... I think it leaks from the bottom... but I am not sure with gravity... it is very hard to see even from underneath... do you happen to know the Turbo Garrett model number the XD2S had? If I take it down I might as well get a repair kit and re-haul it...
pug505usa
I found the spec for the turbo... http://peugeot.mainspot.net/tips/505dt.shtml
Peugeottogo
Thats the correct info on the turbo. Keep us posted if you identify where the oil leak actually is.
Brian Holm - Parts for Peugeots
I think the '84 TD oil pressure line has a flare fitting at the turbo, and is inclined to crack at the fitting. I always planned to make a copper replacement line, but never did. I think Cu would resist cracking better.
Peugeottogo
Your right Brian on the 84 model and up use a flare rather than the banjo fitting on the turbo side of the oil line. We had a discussion earlier this year when we discussed locating a used line for my 82.
