swept
are the n9t and n9tea cylinder heads interchangeable given they run under different compressions? (I know the topic of heads have been discussed quite a lot on this forum, but I couldn't find this info). thanks for your help, Ken
Bean
Pistons have a deeper dish in the N9T for the lower compression ratio. The 85 N9T's had sodium filled valves, but I understand they stopped using them in the 86+ cars. If they're in good shape - sodium filled valves are really high end so I'd think the 85' head is the best one to use. So yes the heads are completely interchangeable. I've never heard of any difference in cam specs, but the later N9TEA cars had ECU controlled boost to 12 psi, and the later cars ran 7.5:1 instead of the N9T's 7:1 compression ratio.
