Guest
I just bought this car and when you turn the key over there is no spark. I've tried a new coil, checked fuses, no results. I'm thinking that it could be a problem with the system that triggers the spark. Can anybody give me some insight into how this system works? Or a possible solution for my problem? V-M
- Usually distributor cap (check at in the middle is carbon pin on place) , - that "what ever that name is" inside of distributor which is rotating - spark cables - and most usually one "amplifier" which is connected to distributor (Small Bosch box ending -123). Sorry I don't know right names for those. V-M
Yq397r
I would definetly take a close look at te distributor and the ignitior rotor. I had a nasty problem with a crapped out distributor on my old Saab 900 and my dad's jag had a similar problem in his XJS caused by a bad igniton rotor (it had a hair line crack in it). Guest
Thanks for all your help, i'll check out some of those things tonight. But, does anyone know how the ignition system tells the coil when to fire? I can't seem to find any wires or sensors around the distributor cap and i've usually seen on my other cars. again, Thank you much for the help. Guest the505inme
There is an excellent reply regarding this on [email protected] from a few days ago. Basically, the signal comes from the ECU. But check out peugeot-l.
