Guest the505inme
I think I have some computer retarding ignition issues. After parking, then driving say an hour later, there's definate power loss. But I turn it off, then back on again, and she's all better, like nothing happend.. I wish the computer would flash me a fault code, but it never does. With the ignition in the start position, the yellow light is off....but when going from the on to start position, it gives a split second flash..so is the little bugger woking or not? grrrr. august
hmmmmm, that light should be solid yellow when you have the key in the "ON" position.. The LED has its own plug in the back of the instrument cluster (if i remember correctly). I'd suggest checking that. ...wish i could be more help
Guest the505inme
To my memory, that light has nver worked, evn when the waste gate jammed and the car went into 'limp home mode' years ago. I thought I blew the tranny! I'll check the connection at the detonation sensor first, since I don't feel like taking anything apart today. hmmmmm, that light should be solid yellow when you have the key in the "ON" position.. Guest the505inme
Well, I checked the knock sensor conection, and it looks solid. It started raining, so I didn't want to lie under the car anymore. However, I did find a loose plug wire ( are these wires famous for coming loose or what) and all seems well now. I bet it was floating in place, making and breaking contact when driving, feeling like the timing was being retarded. However, I still want to address the non op wee yellow light, I'll start this weekend on that. Any luck resolving this issue?
august
check the connectors at both ECU's. I've replaced ECU's before which cured the non-op yellow light.. the detonation sensor can throw a code, but the yellow light isn't dependent on it.
