  1. Pugsley, I had thought about bidding on it when it was on ebay as well. Jeff
  2. Rabin, I remember my 89 V6 505, it was a hoot to drive even being an automatic. I agree that the V6-5spd. is a little more fun. Rob,I think your chances to find a turbo or going to be a little harder to find than a V6 version. A friend of mine bought a one owner 87 5spd. STX model for a mere 1,500 in Rio Vista, Ca. and he's having a blast with it. If you can't get your money out of your STI right now, just drive it. I have more into my 86 505 gasser than its worth too, so I'm driving it as daily transportation to get a few dollars out it. My two TD's sit in jealousy, but I think they know the gasser won't be around as long as they will. Jeff
  3. Rob, now what would Peugeot ownership be without problems? I have owned so many 505's that all of them had some weird quirk or two. Currently my 81 TD is the only one out of the three I currently have that everything is working properly, but in time something will give out. Why not just keep your current 505 and start hunting for a turbo version? Come on, you don't really want to own another Volvo do you? Continue to be different, ok maybe a little bit odd to be driving a Peugeot in a land over crowded with rice rockets. To be really odd like myself, try a 2 cylinder Citroen on the highway, you get to see more of the shoulder of the road than you really want to! Stick with the Lions, Jeff
  4. Rob, yes I saw your car. Mine was parked with yours on Saturday on Sam's empty lot. Your car is really clean! I'm not sure about keeping the 86, but with a a little bit of investment, I'll drive it a lttle more. Sam was fantastic, we chatted for several hours about his introduction into Peugeot and his future plans. He's been seeing over the years the decline in Peugeot customers, but will continue working on them as long as he can for even owners like myself that are willing to bring them in from a far. Get that clutch dropped off to him, you know it will only take him the same day to get it in. Thanks again Rob for high lighting Sam at SK Auto in another thread, having only heard great things about him lead me to have him make the repairs on my car. Jeff
  5. Hey, not to hijack this thread, but Norcal 505, I trailered my sick 86 505 to Sam last week on Wednesday, it needed a transmission. The car was done Friday and I picked up the car on Saturday with no complaints. A truely amazing guy. To bad their are not more mechanics like him. Jeff
  6. The only thumbs up I get in my area are French tourists! My office shares the same parking area for the local vistor center. My ole 505 TD has had more photos taken of it than you can imagine. On special days, I'll drive my Citroen Ami-6 to work, this car gets more folks posing with it than the 505. Jeff
  7. Wasn't this Dangel listed on ebay several times? If I could have legally got it into the states it would be here. Jeff
  8. Rob, there was a 1988 red 505 turbo on ebay awhile back that was originally owned by Cerrones and son's in Redwood City and being sold in Santa Clara. Jeff
  9. Rob, did you get down to Westernhemispheres last week? I don't head there often, as I keep a lot of diesel parts in my inventory and have small parts shipped to me as well. If you plan a trip, I'll try to make it. Jeff
  10. Rob, I had a grey 89 V6 with euro headlamps and a early turbo rear spolier that I sold in May 2006 with 24,000 original miles. A car buy the way that cruised at 110 mph all day with plenty of grunt for more. but I think you are referencing to the last photo posted of my 86 S light green color with the XN6 engine that has euro headlamps and early version turbo spoiler also. If you want to see more photos of ether I can do that. Jeff
  11. Rob, it looks to be the factory wiring that would be used for the automatics. They have an illuminated light in the gear selector. Two transmission choices but only one wiring harness. Jeff
  12. Rob, I know for sure he has used 140 mph speedo's still in the clusters. Just rummage through his used boxes of parts. Have fun, the warehouse is full of stuff. As for the installation of shocks and struts in my area, you can't even find a mechanic that can spell Peugeot let alone work on one. Say hi to Miles for me, he knows me best for my Citroen Ami-6, Jeff
  13. The 82 turbo diesel I had owned prior. I gave it to my father in law to drive as a second car. He then sold it to a co-work last January, who then just plainly gave it back to my father-in-law last month since he moved out of state and had no plans to take it with him. It now sits in my driveway again. The only thing not working is the speedometer due to a broken cable 2 months ago. A nice older 505 that has ice cold air conditioning and a working sunroof with everything else working. I have all service records from day one and the original purchase agreement. The 86 XN6 was to be given to one of my daughter-in-laws in Fresno. She found another car to drive otherwise this wouldn't be in my driveway ether. Another car with all service records from day one and with a few letters from Peugeot with their notice of intent to pull out of the US market. So nether are being used, I have others to drive Jeff
  14. The Ami-6 basically sit's on a 2CV chassis. The two cylinder boxer engine sounds like a an old VW bus, with the sound emitting from the opposite end ! My Ami-6 Break has almost 40,000 orginal miles. It was imported from Normandy in 2002, and has won several awards. Last count, 9 Ami-6 Break models in the USA The only list member who has seen it in person is August. Jeff
  15. She's a little slow, but you get to see more of the road that way! Jeff
  16. Hey Rob, I was out of town for the first time during this crazy car weekend. Camping and water sking was on the calendar at Clear Lake this time. Where's a link to your photos? Jeff
  17. So what is Daryl's asking price?
  18. NorCal, are most of the Peugeot photo's of cars at John's place? Jeff
  19. Hopefully these cars are still there. How large is John's inventory of Peugeots? If you could pass on his contact info that would be great. Good luck Saturday, Keep us posted, Jeff
  20. I would call Miles Potter (owner of Westernhemispheres) directly at 800-222-3320 Good luck, Jeff
  21. norcal505, I was at Westernhemispheres yesterday for Miles had a open house for the Citroen club I belong to. He has several used speedo clusters for the series one cars with the 140 mph you are looking for. He got a lot of used parts from another Peugeot guy in San Jose about a month ago sitting in boxes and. Jeff
  22. Just another ebay scam guys. A friend of mine bid on the real ebay auction back in April of this year with a bid of $236,000. Reserve wasn't met. The car maybe coming to the Monterey Sports Car & Exotic's auction held at the Monterey Conference Center in August. I'll be looking for it, as I work for the city of Monterey. Jeff
  23. I knew someone had a closer answer! Thanks Toni, I'm over in the slow lane with a few TD's models with ZF automatics Jeff
