  1. Rob, the GS models were a little funky but still fun to drive. My Citroen friend has several in his collection. They are powered by an air cooled flat four with the hydro pneumatic suspension similar to the DS. My Ami is powered by a flat 2 cylinder engine that sounds like an over loaded VW bus coming at you, but the GS flat four sounds more like you are on a runway with a Cessna coming at you! Jeff
  2. August, I think there's no difference in the subframes on the late turbo and V6 models. My old 89 V6 subframe looked beefer than ether of my 86 models and my 89 V6 didn't have ABS on it. Jeff
  3. So to summerize this car: No historical significance? Someone's dream SCCA 505? Transplanted stock engine? 1984-85 front doors? I thought that the GL versions were used for the racing plateform due to the addional weight of electric motors, sunroof, etc. $1,500.00 or obo. sounds about right. It only reached $650.00 2 years ago on ebay before the auction was pulled. Jeff
  4. Rob, well it could be a GS from the seventies. Not really boxy but larger than the Ami and smaller than a CX. Or it could be a a non legal import model called the BX, it's Citroen's first box, another rarity. Jeff Ps. your in a land of French cars aren't you? (Alameda)
  5. Without seeing a picture, I'm thinking it's a Ami 8 sedan. It use to be owned by a fellow in Santa Rosa. Jeff
  6. I don't think the gold rims look to great with a white bodied car with black and chrome accents. Looks like a little rub rash on the right front bumper. Jeff
  7. They will fit the same as your model year. The inner plastic trim covers are easy to break so be careful. The mirrors are held in from the interior side with three screws. Non powered 96 model mirrors? Must be from a GL model. Jeff
  8. Rob, what color is the Ami sedan? There's are members of the SF Citroen club that have a Ami 6 gray colored one and a another member with a Ami 6 yellow one. I'm thinking the one you have seen is an 8 model, a little less rare, but not by much. Jeff
  9. Found this on the Western Hemisphere's site: http://westernhemispheres.com/westernh/ite...65483BC12425C41 Nor Cal 505 should take a look Jeff
  10. Rob, I'd say go for it if you can get it into the Continental US. Jeff
  11. Rob they look nice. I was able to see the rear seat prior to you doing the front when I was at SK Auto in October Are they comfy? Jeff
  12. Rob, feel free to pass on my contact info: [email protected] Had a few inquiries and I'm open to offers. Jeff
  13. Rob, you should join: sfrscca.org I talked to this group at the International auto show at Moscone center a few years ago. You would be the only member with a Peugeot 505 like I would have been. Jeff
  14. Rob, when I took him up to the bay area to get the car, there was only one other interested person that turn out to be a tire kicker. Just the recent service work that was performed on the car exceded 1,100.00 The owner of the car had moved to Japan and their friends were selling the car for them. They didn't want to store the car any longer, so my friend low balled a price that they just accepted. He plans to have the car this winter resprayed at one of our local high end shops. It won't be cheap, but he's not much into this car at this point, in which he plans on keeping. His prevous 505 was a 84 505 S that he literally wore out. There was very little life left in it, dead cylinder, slipping transmisson, weak brakes, but enough to give it away to another Peugeot owner in Central Ca. to cut the rear fenders off of it for their own damaged 505. Jeff
  15. Let me add some of the cars I remember seeing while growing up in my neighborhood : Neighbors 404 Traveled all over the SF bay area in it 356 Porsches were as popular as VW bugs Did I mention Simca's? Many Renault R16's Citroen D series In later years we watched 505's and Le Car's race a Laguna Seca Jeff
  16. Let me see about getting some photos of it. I've driven it once, pulls off the line quite well. He paid only $1,100 for it. Jeff
  17. Pugsley, its a 5 spd. STX He's a 62 year old guy that drives it like were a sports car.
  18. Those are some nice looking cars! George folded up Sunset Coachmen over a year ago to start his new venture in bio-diesel. Even he stated that Peugeot ownership is declining and his business was as well. I'm sure he still has large inventory out back, but its not his priorty now. Jeff
  19. Thanks Rob for a possible referal. I bought the car back in May from a Peugeot fellow I knew that lives in King City. He bought the car from the original owner from what I can tell through the service records. I purchased this 505 for my daughter in law in Fresno, but she found another car to buy from one of her friends there. I don't need the car as you know as I have others, so the wife wants it to go. Sam thought the car was in great shape since he doesn't see many without rust. Jeff
  20. Ok, I thought I'd post my 86 505 for sale here just in case there's a visitor to the site that might be looking for a clean, solid and rust free 505. Jeff http://sfbay.craigslist.org/sby/car/486445738.html
  21. Rob a friend of mine owns this car in Marina, Ca. I don't have any photos of it. He is the only other Peugeot owner in my area. I got him started with the purchase of my 82 turbo diesel 11 years ago and now he's hooked on them. Jeff
  22. Where's the car located Rob? Make him an offer?
  23. Did Daryl sell his 89 turbo? Could always swap out the auto for a 5 spd. on that one. Jeff
  24. This is what I found: N9T> PG-205553 XD2&3> Small spline PG-205504 XD2&3> large spline PG-205501 Jeff
