1320Turbo

1986 Turbo. stock rims what size tires do these take? the car is sitting and has been sitting for a few years and the tires are either probably dry rotted to hell or flat spotted. I want to know what size tires it takes so my friend who works at the toyota dealership can pick me up used tires off a customer for free. Matt

my dads new store is about 2 minutes from the peugeot headquarters but they'll probably run me up a buck I have intentions of picking up the turbo on Sunday, my friends dad is letting me store it in his garage while I work on it. Matt

worst fear is the head was cracked. If thats the case would you happen to have one of those? I'm sure the 3 massive Harry's U-Pull-It junkyards in PA have at least a few 505's I can go jack parts off of but thats at least 2 hours one way

wondering if anyone has engine parts / coolant system parts for the 505. Starting the project come next month and would like to know I can get parts for the beast before I attempt it. Matt

lol just after my uncle gave me the 505 turbo i went for a ride in his nova. the only other 505 i've ever seen was at a used car dealership down the road. ironicaly it was parked next to the same car as my mom drives in the same red, 92 volkswagen gti so i saw that as a sign i need to fix this car. other than that, never seen a peugeot on the roads. I'm so excited, but I need mad help to get it going, I know nothing about this car. I'm used to 6 cylinders, fwd and it positioned horizontaly. going to be WIERD to work

wondering if when I throw new injectors in the 505 if i need any fuel tune on top of that or if i can just have them and up the boost. basicaly need to know how deep i'm getting myself into this before I jump head first.

does anyone have a production list for these cars? or to match vin numbers to see how many cars were in each trim. for instance theres a site i can plug into for my 3000GT and find out production numbers and color and interior matches. My car is 1 of 20 Identical

i know a guy who can import you ANYTHING you want. In a few years i'm getting either an R33 skyline or a RHD Mitsubishi GTO (JDM 3000GT VR4). I want that renault v6 get a price, lol i can get a rhd rx7 for about 16g's, same as the GTO

alright thats cool. Work begins in the spring. 3000GT went to the shop today for the new motor, new engine looks fantastic so i'm really excited about that. I also had a prosport oil pressure gauge and sandwich plate for the 3000 but decided not to pull the dash to swap out all gauges so I traded the sandwich plate and 15 bucks for a brand new in package autometer boost gauge. :-D...getting mods and it deosnt even run yet! lol Matt

just needed an about so i can get an idea of what it will feel like. the 3000GT will put about 200 to the ground on all motor weighing 3500 lbs. although FWD vs RWD and MTX vs AT is way diffrent in feel. also does this car have an aftermarket exhaust. from pics all the stockers go out the passenger side. Running 17psi, how will an exhaust system really affect performance. sorry about being a noob with the turbo everything, i'm really used to N/A and backpressure is a good thing there, lol.

can i vent it to atmosphere without sacraficing the car running like total crap? What would that do for spool up time and throttle response? doesnt the elbow or whatever thats stock still give compressor surge? or is it all bypassed by that tube? oh and how much do these cars weigh roughly Matt

i was thinking building a box and just venting air toward it, maybe if I can try to position it a little differently so its easier to get air by it. If I throw on a BOV it'll be vented to atmosphere. If im floored from a stop how long does it take to get the turbo fully spooled....stock...with bov? Matt

i'm just thinking ahead, i'll have the 3000GT as a daily for a good while when i'm working on this, when I get at least 230 to the wheels in this one safely it'll be my daily until it dies so maybe I can do projects on the 3000 that wont hurt me if i dont get them done in a day. also i want to know how the turbo system works. Can I relocate the TMIC or just build a box around it, thought about taking some pvc and making some tubes to direct air toward it. Also do these cars have MAP's or MAF's because I would really like to put on a nice BOV. Who's going to expect that loud CHOOOO sound from an 80's french sedan. also how loud is the stock turbo valve Matt

well it comes with 2 sets of rims and i got a friend who works for a toyota dealership as a mechanic, as long as the tire size is common i'll have alot of mostly worn down freebies to play around with. ok the downside is its an automatic, how hard is it to convert to manual? i know on the 3000gt's theres a slight cutting in the firewall and then everything bolts up exactly the same without modification. alright, so i guess its decided its worth a shot. With 250 horses in possibility and the fact the rear end doesnt hook up great and its RWD and yet a balanced car it could be my absolute favorite toy on wet roads

since I dont have it sitting infront of me, does it have an oil temp gauge? I have the prosport and I can wire it up white and it'll look fine and might be of use, however I need to know what type of oil filter it uses. Have a sandwich plate for a 3000GT and its a thead in type oil filter. Matt

oh and what color is the dashboard glow anyway? Got a blue Prosport oil temp gauge i'm trying to sell in blue or white glow need to get a real boost gauge too

I'm assuming the covers come off and they're lights? would be cooler if they were semi transparent and looked black in the day but glowed at night, lol. and yeah got a few friends with vynil cutters. Usualy I get masks because I do the whole rc buisness - www.jamminlidz.com

so in other words its worth the $80 to get it towed. If the had is cracked I'm sure quite of you forum goe'rs need some parts ;-). Judging by the back he drove it home with no problems tells me that theres a good chance the head is fine as well as even with sitting theres no real signs of an area where oil and whatnot would be spewed out etc. Gotta get the new motor for the 3000GT first, should be in 2 weeks, plan on picking it up end of febuary. Anyone know what the bosch bumper like things in the front used for besides looking cool? Intentions if I get it going are tinted tails, throwing in some HID's, maybe some interior glow (not a ricer, but the interior has a nice area to illuminate at a show since i go to alot to hang out), polishing everything up, maybe compounding the paint, probably just a wax though and I like the stock rims, might buff them down and repaint them to freshen the look up. Need a reliable DD since I intend to go TT with the 3000 and that will be down for a month or so on that one, aha. Steady Job + a DD (or two) = FOR THE WIN oh and I'll probably have my friend cut out a vynil 505Turbo.com banner for the side windows or something, aha. Matt
