  1. You guys know the drill. With cars this old, its a pain to work on. Being 18, getting a mustang soon and having an expensive 3000gt, I cant afford a 3rd project in my life right now. Between college, working, homework, and car maintence (and occasionaly building r/c cars) I really cant afford to fix this. 1986 505 Turbo pix -
  2. my uncle has a full set of alloys from a 505 with studded snow tires on them. Since I'm probably parting out what I can and scrapping my car I doubt I'll need em
  3. I dont want to. If someone's willing to hook me up with an engine for like $100 then I'm game
  4. i'm jealous, there are cars out there that actualy run! lol
  5. LOL my stipulation was if I trade anyone this car I need a guarantee they'll fix it
  6. I may trade it to my friend for a Tt kit for the stealth
  7. Woo I have $1,000 now Turbo the stealth? Fix the pug? put toward mustang? hmm
  8. either way i'm getting a deal and could sell it for double. I'd rather the peugeot by all means
  9. okayy..Is it probable that the rings may be bad? If so I'm not continuing with the project. I love the car but for the money, I'd rather spend it on a 95 Cobra of which I'm buying in a few months anyway
  10. Thats all for the better. Nelson who runs the highest horsepower street legal 3000gt with twin GT42's runs no air cleaners because the open end of the turbo is probably a good 7 inches wide
  11. larger turbo's dont really need filters. That wheel is spinning so freakin fast that anything that touches it is going to disapear into molecules, lol
  12. oh and my drivers side window wont go up, it worked the other day. Any ideas? (there has been no grinding or anything or any sound when you try to put it up)
  13. From the front of the car to the back, compression in psi are as follows 95 23 24 27 (problem? I think so) Opening the coolant, it smells like its 100% gasoline. Therefore the headgasket is bad and Its big enough that I'm losing compression and gas to the coolant system. Furthermore, the plugs that I took out of it were carbon fouled, Since I'm getting some popping / backfiring at high rpm's, the intake valves are not making a seal and closing all the way from carbon buildup, or valves are bent (I dont believe this is an interference motor so thats not a problem). Intentions are as follows: Remove head and replace gasket, my friend goes to school at lincoln tech, he says for free I can have the head cleaned, port and polished, pressure tested and returned to me for no charge. Meanwhile I can clean and paint all the other parts in the engine bay as well as clean up any sensors that come off during removing the head. my questions are: Does anyone have a walkthough on head removal? How are the piston rings on these cars? Is it a chance they're bad?
  14. you gotta give insight on how you created all the custom parts. Looks great. I'd love one of those grille's
  15. We have yet to change the oil although the oil shows 0 signs of coolant I would also like to note the fact the speedometer bounces all over the place
  16. so back to the car. Drove it down the street and back today. The idle is about 500 when you put it in drive and it wants to die ( It did once when I stopped at the end of the street ). When I parked it back in my yard it idled around 1400 rpm and didn't change. We checked the spark order and it shoudl be correct although it does seem like timing is off or something. The coolant bubbles however when the motor stops, it still bubbles at the same rate until the coolant cools We bled the front brakes and they hold pressure, the brakes are in bad shape though and dont stop too efficiently
  17. I love this car. Its not sex on wheels but its got its own unique way of saying, hey check this out
  18. I'm not like covering it in vinyl's, Just euro-tuning it. Once it's dont it'll be cool
  19. some rare finds there. is that a 2CV ??( I think they're called, I bought one in GT4) Problem being is that the cars have no real market value and they're not desirable to many so refurbishing them would cost alot and if you didn't like it, you'd be stuck with it.
  20. I'll take pics tomorrow, put it on the front window, its small and looks kinda classy. I have a carbon blowneuroz sticker and I cant figure out where I want to put it, either across the top of the back window, or on the backwindow down the passenger side (from top to bottom)
  21. If I get the urge I may put them on tonight. I had another blowneuroz cut in carbon fiber vinyl and it looks like real carbon fiber! ( not the crap that you get thats like painted squares )
  22. maybe, alternators are cheap off ebay. Havent put the 505turbo.com one on yet, maybe tomorrow after work
  23. I'll check on that tomorrow. So far its going alot easier than expected.
  24. we already attacked the igntion system, looked into the fuel system and it has good pressure, sanded every tab and connector we could find to ensure the best electrical connection. My coolant sensor is broken (says my coolant is low and it's 100% full). Oil is in ok shape for as many miles as it has however it'll be getting an oil change within the next few days. We many remove fuel injectors next to clean them and check. Tomorrow I'm going more into the cosmetic and cleanup department since everything could use a spot cleaning so work goes more smoothly. Needs to be driven, This way I can test to see how the transmission is and if the turbo builds any boost. If either have issues I can look into those as well
