  1. What has Obama accomplished in his career that makes you think he could do that ? He has no experience in foreign policy or dealing with other countries.
  2. I prefer the cloth seats; they are much more comfortable, and seem to be more durable.
  3. As I listen to Senator Obama speak in Wisconsin today (Wed, Oct 1st) he states that he will make sure a plan is in place for middle class America in the Bail Out Package. Someone needs to inform the EMPTY SUIT that middle class America is the Bail Out Package. As long as you are not on welfare or an illegal immigrant receiving a FREE monthly check, FREE medical benefits and FREE housing you must go to work (as an employee as well as small business owner) everyday and pay your taxes and your own way because NO ONE is going to Bail you out. He also proposes to cut taxes for 95% of middle America, National Health Care, rebuild infrastructure, build new schools, lower the cost of college education, 500 Billion for new energy programs just as a start. Cut taxes and increase spending. The last time I heard or read of a Miracle of that magnitude was when Jesus Christ fed the multitude with only 5 FISH and 5 LOAVES of BREAD. However, some of his followers are dumb enough to compare him to Jesus Christ: maybe they think his ridiculous plan will really work ? Does anyone see the holes in his plan ?
  4. N9TE: Im not a McCain guy, but what really bothes me about Obama is the fact that he was a twenty year member of a organization that preached hatred and racism. We live in a era where racism is supposed to be unacceptable yet we are supporting a presidential canidate who was part of a hate organization ? And look at his wife and using racial slurs like "whitey" Do we really want an angry racist women like that in the white house ? People are looking more at his skin color then his achievements. Hitler is correct: he said it was fortunate that people dont think when electing governments. People flock to Obama; and yet I keep asking over and over; name three things the guy has accomplished, and its always the same answer : crickets. And as a vet who served in the gulf war: he does not put his hand over his heart when the flag is present. And canidate that does not do that is disrespecting this coutry and has no business running the country. Only a moron could possibly believe you can negotiate or give money to terrorists.Ive been to the middle east: they live breath and are religeous about killing us, you cannot talk to these people. Im against socialism: and thats what Obama is for. This is America, if you want something, go work for it. free handouts teaches lazyness. Socialized medicine is not the answer; we all complain how the government runs things, do we want them running our healthcare also ? We are heading into a rough time ahead; do we really want a president with a empty resume and 183 days of actual experience running this country ? Seem the last few elections I keep voting for the lesser evil.

  6. Not only that, but the HO 5.0s have alot of nickel in the block making the cylinder walls very durable.
  7. Name three things Obama has accomplished in his career that makes you think he would make a great president.
  8. Peugeots are hard to put a value on here; some people have the chicken little syndrome and are afraid to own a orphan. Off the top my head, Id sat $1,000 for a a driver up to $3,000 for a very nice one.

  10. I dont understand why they ran 8.3:1 compression, Hemi motors are less prone to spark knocking, they should have gone 9:1 which wouldn't have been a problem. Maybe they wanted a STD engine for crappy gas in all countries, I guess. I think the engine has potential, but its in a heavy body for a small displacement. Im thinking of hollowing out the Cat (Yea, its illegal) and playing with the timing. Bean: you're correct on the 5.0 Ford, they are more compact then the Chevy 350, and very easy to find. I like the GM LS1 idea, Im thinking with the aluminum construction it should be reasonably light. Dont think Im anti-Ford; my buddy and I have a one ton 460 powered Ford van out where we keep our cars and its a very rugged workhorse !
  11. I think the biggest problem is the size: 2.0 liter engine pushing a 2800-3000 lb car, and even more weight then that with my fat ass in it. This is the problem with European cars; any aftermarket stuff (cams, etc) will thin the wallet; I remember being a teen and buying a aftermarket Crane cam and lifters for my 402 Chevy for $89. If you could figure out a way to hook up the computer; a late model aluminum GM LS1 would really be a neat swap. Anyway back to your motor, does yours have the split headers ? I read somewhere that helps, maybe an aftermarker exhaust. I havce two of my Pugs registered at my cabin in IL, where they have no emissions , I "gutted: the converter on my V6 and noticed that helped. US spec cars were rated at less power. If you want to tear into the motor have a valvejob done; get a 3 angle valvejob which usually rules 10cfm more flow, mill the head some (you'll have to anyway its aluminum) & little more compression.
  12. Im told that engine can go 300K + miles , yes the ZDJL revs better , it has a long stroke (3.50") for a 2.2 and has pretty good torque also. The ZDJL also hs pretty good size ports for good breathing.
  13. I saw that Mini in a Hemmings issue, nice , but I'm drooling over thoe Rabbits, the diesels are bringing crazy money on E-rape right now.
  14. My '81 Xn6 / 5 speed is a slug, my 87 STI ZDJL 2.2 5 speed will leave it in the dust. I ended up installing a new fuel pump, did a tuneup, checked the timing, checked the compression (excellent) and adjusted the valves: it's still a pig, are these engines usually this slow ?
  15. Of all my Pugs, I prefer the velour seats, they seem more cushy and more comfortable, the leather in my 87s seems a little too firm.
  16. I havent posted in a while, my fat ass has been working on my newer 81 Xn6/5speed lately
  17. I sure like Palin, that woman is no dummy.
  18. Mine has ranged from 23-28 mpg with 4 speed auto.
  19. Most Peugeot parts here require looking under rocks for parts at ; but the internet has made it much easier to find them. Of all the 505s I own I prefer the V6; as long as its maintained Im told they will go 300-350,000 miles. I wish mine was a 5 speed though I have a friend in France with a Skylark and a Mercury Monarch. Neither of those cars here are not collectors items but they sure have disappeared from the roads. Peugeot 505s handle and brake very well, my two diesels ride like a Cadillac. I have several V8 cars, but the way gas prices have gone (not nearly as bad as the 8.47-8.63/gallon as my friend tells me, so maybe we should stop our complaining ?) I dont drive my gashogs much.
  20. Im looking around; need a wagon with loadspace for my business. I sure dont want a clumsy SUV that gets 12 mpg with these gas prices !
  21. Im looking at a few late model Volvo wagons myself; parts avability for them is pretty good here.
  22. I thought it would be worth a look; if the engine was overhauled like the ad says Im sure it cost 2x that amount ?
  23. : http://stlouis.craigslist.org/car/640370092.html Closest thing I can get to a SM for now. Anyone give their .02 ?
  24. Ford also made a 2.0 and 2.5 versions of that engine in the Ranger: Im wondering if the rod legths are different like the 240 and 300 rods were in the old six cylinders. Ive seen some weird combos put together and work well. BTW - car is a twin of my turbo, but mine is a 20 ft away car for sure, it came from Chicago which is pretty hard on cars. Car looks nice - shame about the heads on these.
  25. I think he had a 504 coupe on ebay a few years ago; really nice. I got outbid.
