SEAN DONOHUE
I am the proud owner of several fine Peugeot motor cars and bicycles. My 1984 Peugeot 505 "S" (XN6, 2.0L) sedan with around 36,000 original miles has a problem restarting after an extended period of time. The 505 is used only during the Summer. During the day the engine will start up immediately when warm. If I park the car for an extended period of time the engine has difficulty restarting. Eventually, the engine will restart. The battery is a new Bosch unit. The problem does not appear to be electrical, but fuel related. Any suggestions or assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thank you all in advance. bill
It sure sounds like a fuel accumulator. Common thing.
SEAN DONOHUE
Bill, Thank you for your response. Where is the Fuel Accumulator located in the Peugeot 505? Is this an easy repair? What is the Bosch Part Number? Thanks, Sean
bill
It is located next to the fuel pump. Located outside under the rear (driver's side) seat. You might want to do the fuel filter as well if it hasn't been changed in a while. You may want to have a few extra little rubber hangers on hand in case you need them (probably will). Brass washers are something else to get.
