Very cool, where did you find that? Craigslist?
-
yea that's what I did, I moved the wiring/bulb housing into the spot used for the parking lamps thanks for the input guys.
-
so... what do you guys think? The more I look at it the less thrilled I am with it. I might just take the blub and wiring out and put it into part of the tail lamp that is used for running lights/parking lights only. I used a rear fog switch from an '85 Wagon that showed up in a parts yard. It's too wide to fit into the 86+ sockets. I have yet to dig up a rear fog switch from the UK

I have one on my desk at work =) It's perty Let me know if you managed to scrounge up more than one set of new or used floor mats or any other OEM Accessory type stuff. I'd be interested.

I think the bigger issue, other than the lack of mediocre candidates on both sides, no 3rd party, ect is the level of discourse in this country. It's pitiful. Nowhere can you have a real, thoughtful intelligent debate without people getting angry and preaching talking points. It isn't productive and only hurts the country.

Hi Bean, Thanks for the info! I have some gear oil ill put in, it was pretty dirty in there. The door card is much easier to remove with the door opened though
-
well, i pried apart the door panel while it was shut and fiddled around w/ some stuff anddddd it unlocked... *shrug* sprayed some wd-40 for good measure, tested it a dozen times and put it all back together, no problems so far. in the future i'm not going to be doing any unnecessary door locking however.

probably parting out + scrapping car, any interest

since its the same colour scheme as mine and w/ a nicer body i'm seriously debating driving up there and towing it back. $500 eh? -
My central locking has always worked fine... until yesterday. I went to lock my doors as normal and they kind of ground and locked, like the battery was dying? They unlocked fine, i got in my car and locked them, the central locking didn't lock all the doors. I tried to unlock the drivers door and all the doors locked again... Went to unlock the drivers door and nothin. It seems to be "stuck" in place no matter how much I pull up on the lever or w/ the key in the door. The central locking does not work, but the other doors are fine unlocking and locking manually. Is there anything I can do to get the drivers door unstuck? I checked my fuses under the hood and the one behind the ashtray and none are blown. What's going on?? Is there anything I can do to force the drivers door to unlock? i might be able to pry the door card off w/ the door shut or maybe the external door handle off?

I'm still here, work beckons. was down at the more generic 'pick 'n pull' parts yard today helping a friend w/ a mercedes 300d, found an '81 505 wagon, pulled the rear fog switch out of it, everything else had been picked clean already:(

Thank you very much for your help! i'm gonna tear into this tomorrow probably and see if I can get it to work, now that it's september lol

the euro plate frame looks great btw ! -
Hi broke. I have an '86 505 STI, non turbo 4cy Well right now the compressor isn't plugged in, the power wire is just hanging there and I don't know where it goes (much time spent bent over the engine bay looking) The compressor is good, I ran a jumper wire to it and it kicks on. And just basic info about the charging ports, ect. I've found one under the air filter/fuel injection but it's a PITA to get to. As for the vacuum system diagram, After I re-sealed up the intakes and changed the warm up regulator my climate control (the vacuum portion when you push the buttons) doesn't work and it randomly kicks into full heat to the defrost, where it worked previously.

I've used the OEM US screw holes (No US plate holder on mine) and screwed the europlate frame into that. It hangs down below the bumper which I don't like, but unless I'd buy some euro bumpers it's never gonna look perfect. Unfortunately w/ any NA spec european car a european plate is gonna look awkward because of our bumper regulations. i.e. my 88 Audi 5000, it looks OK but not as well as it would w/ the "proper" bumpers. 3rd attachment is how our cars should look
