  1. I like the US-spec lights because I grew up with a 505 that had Euro spec lights.....funny! I only wish the US-spec would come in that distinctive French "yellow".

I am an avid F1 fan and after todays race at Barcelona I am more than a little worried that its getting very boring. Little passing, lots of strategy, less enthusiasm. Perhaps if the 1 engine-2 race rule is scrapped things might get a bit more exciting. I am getting desperate for some good racing...like the old Arnoux-Villeneuve days. Any thoughts?
  3. As I said, the first part is what I read....the following part is what I've seen. The rationale of having 18 inch wheels at the front was to have a low profile tire on it and have higher profile tires at the back with the smaller diameter wheel...but the heights remain the same front and back. This I read on a Ferrari forum. The pics I posted is what I have witnessed...though I should have corrected myself and said 17 inch at the front and 18 at the back. In the Porsche picture, I believe both rims are the same size and the front tires simply have a lower profile than the rear tires.
  4. As a matter of fact, I read that 18" are possibly the best compromise for tire wall rigidity in race cars...and that it would be more practical to have, for example, 18 inchers on the front (in a rear wheel drive car) and have the 17 inchers at the back. What I have seen more often (even in the FIA GT) is that the front wheels may be (for example) 18 inches with a size 50 tire wall and the front wheels will be 17 inches with a 45 wall. I cant seem to attatch pictures but follow the link and the other link.
  5. Equally interested in seeing the outcome. Keep us posted
  6. Welcome and nice GTI! My first experiences with a 505 was in Africa so I know well the volume of Peugeot that are sent there...mostly the GR and SR and the occasional STI. Feel free to post more pics!
  7. Mine came with 205-60-15 all round, and at one time I installed 215-60-15 at the back....would have preffered a lower profile, but still good.

    hello people

Considering how long it took to get 505 videos on the internet, the videos are gold!
  9. In my opinion, the only thing the 505 ever really needed was more rubber....those Pininfarina lines suit me just fine.....just some wider tires and we are in business.... But to each his own..... Keith West is my hero.

Welcome and the very best of luck Keep us posted on your progress and jump right in!
  11. The 505 S Donor Car Thanks August. I wasn't even bruised or sore after the accident. Its been a year but it still sucks as hard as ever....especially considering I was on my best behaviour when it happened. I will definitely need that radiator, and I will start looking for parts one at a time. I havent gotten round to going to a shop to inquire on prices yet, but I thought it would be better to repair my car rather than transfer the parts over to the S. I just don't know if I would successfully end up with a Turbo, rather than an S with Turbo parts, know what I mean? I'll have to look at the body long and hard and make my decision. My Turbo's frame was not badly affected and seems to be fine and thats a plus. Any advice? Anyway I take the 'S' home tomorrow...lets see what happens.
  12. Thanks! I never thought I would ever see footage no matter how small of the Super Production. I don't know how you did it...
  13. Some pics of the damage on my car.
  14. Thanks a lot! That is very inspiring....and gives me hope. I'll post pics soon to let you know my level of damage... Once again thanks for sharing.
  15. Looks like fun....is it one of the really fast ones that do 0-60 almost instantly? Oops , its a slot car....my bad
  16. Sorry Rabin but I couldnt think of a better title.... I just managed to get my hands on an '80 (?)505 S, in the hopes that its parts might give life to my fallen Turbo. For those who aren't in the know I had an accident with it and the front is caved in (will post pics) and one fender crunched. I have not spoken to any body shop yet and I have little knowledge of how it works but I assume that they would need a complete front end in order to fix my car. Fortunately the bumper was unscathed but I'll need a new radiator, lights, hood, twin-fan-thingys-infront of radiator, and who knows what else. So I have sourced the donor car and what remains is to get a good price for the job from a local body shop. I'll post pics of the 'S', but welcome any comments and advice, especially from those who have been down this path before. More later....
  17. Not sure its an actual T16, but even so, the 205 he almost clips seems to say, "You chose the wrong Peugeot to rally in..." (Finals have gotten to my head!)
  18. Google Video is my friend! Watch Top Gear....today!

Have you watched the Top Gear Review? Amazing. It makes one feel a little sad.
  20. Nice. Please let us know the details of the job, expenses and so forth. I am definately looking that way too so I am very interested in how the project goes.
  21. I agree. Good plan. Rabin, did you mention that you were doing some wheel mods on your car? I have a vague idea of modifying the hubs to a 5 series BMW or something in order to have a wider choice of wheels and tyres. If I remember correctly I think you said something similar.......
