79 604 SL - ZM112, BA10/4 manual

PeugeotPilot

1979 604 SL V6. Sadly there's just too much wrong with this car for me to fix it, but I am quite attached to this 604 as it was my very first car. The body has been destroyed by years of winter road salt and living in a town with no car wash (and we had no pressure washer) meant there was no way to keep it clean. Dad brought this car home when I was about 8 years old. He came into the house and told my mother and me that he had a surprise for us, then led us outside and showed us this almost-new 604. I remember being disappointed that it wasn't an airplane, but little did I know how many hours I would spend riding in the back of that car on long trips, and that one day it would be given to me for my 17th birthday. The day after I earned my driver's licence I drove this car, alone, 12 hours from Maryfield, Saskatchewan back to Cayley, Alberta. We were moving home after six years in Maryfield, and I had to start grade 11 in High River the very next day. I'll never forget that trip, nor the many adventures I had with this car in the subsequent years. She's almost gone now, but I won't forget her. It's going to hurt to cut this one up.
