Guest
Just brought her home. Not running. Auto trans. Mechanic said #1 injector stuck open, filled cylinder with gas. He replaced the injector and it was "fried" immediately. He believes computer contacts for #1 cylinder are welded together, providing constant 12 volts to that injector (no pulse). Sounds plausible, but wanted to see what y'all think, before I start tearing things apart. I noticed a bad ground clamp on battery neg post--could that be a factor in causing the original problem? Where is the computer located? Is 85 turbo gas computer same as 86? Any basic test(s) I can do to confirm that a computer is good/bad? Thanks. Johnny
The computer (ECU) is behind the glove-compartment and it's labeled jetronic.
