Hi Everyone, I purchased a 1980 505 GR. XN1 The car is in very good condition overall. The body is nearly perfect with the exception on a sun faded roof and off colour hood. And the best part, it's Brown! It is a very base model with the only option being a working clock in the center console. It also cam with a set of early turbo wheels with decent rubber. The car did run though the slave cylinder needed bleeding so wasn't able to test drive. It ran rough as well due to the gunky old carb and likely the vacuum system. I had a brand new weber sitting on the shelf and decided to give it a whirl as it literally bolted right up! Linkage is rigged up temporary as I need to source something better. However the car started right up and ran ultra smooth! That is until it heated up to temp. I took it for a short test run, once it reached full temp it bucked and gurgled and stalled out. I got it restarted and it immediately began to smoke heavily, like burning oil smoke. I am pretty sure this has to do with the emissions system and the air pump. Not sure how to deal with this. I would really like to delete the whole system but have been looking for information on where to start? Anyone have experience with these systems? Thanks Chris
