My name is Arun James and the older brother of Rabin. My Peugeot affliction stated when I was about 17 and My other brother and I bought a 1975 Peugeot 504. We bought the car for $900 and shortly after it in an accident and totalled. We recevied insurance for 3900 and promptly bought a 1975 504 for 4500. Rabin is eight years younger and learned to drive that car early on. After moving to Toronto we were unable to service the car in the condo and had it scrapped. In 1999 I was in Virginia and needed a car to commute and Rabin graciously gave me his pride and joy, an 86 turbo. I still remember him unpacking the the new european lights and stereo for the car. We spent a week getting the car ready and then I drove to Virginia. After a year the transmission went and I bought a GLX parts car in Canada which Rabin removed the trans and shipped to me. Rabin called and asked me to look at a GL turbo in Virginia which had a blown Turbo. I bought the car and replaced the turbo(pic). When it was time to get rid of the car I gave the car to Rabin and he flew down and spent in Virginia. The day before he was to leave we found cylinder down and so we swapped engines overnight and Rabin drove the car 32 hours home the next day. He still has that car among others(pic).
I recently purchased a 87 STX V6 5 speed from a former member 505alive(pic). The car was running but had a bad clutch and I had it delivered from New York to Virginia. My plan is to bring it up to stage zero and use it as a daily driver and autocross. I was able to drive the car in gear and found the clutch OK and the rod from the clutch pedal to the master is bent and assuming the master clutch failed. The sunroof drain drain are plugged and the all the soundproofing and foam under the carpet was rotten. I have stripped the interior and plan to dynamat the interior/rough in wiring for the stereo/battery relocation to trunk.
