  1. and it asks 35w or 55w, which of those?

and the hid harness, did you need to that to install? or is that something for newer cars (the error code eliminator and H1/H7 adapter cables im sure arent applicable for us)

    thanks for the help!

I would personally go with the 8000K or 10,000K Hi/low for the Euro lights, and need the H4's bulbs. If you have the U.S headlight then you need the sealed beam kit.

  2. it was blue, wasnt it? the whole car i mean. i feel like i remember that. i found this on google:

im thinking maybe a 405 grille might work with some cutting...but maybe its not tall enough to fill the 505 front opening.

and then bean and me were talking about a custom sunken honeycomb style grille, see the exterior mods section

    Hi, Everybody,

Work is progressing on my '89 V6. I shall attempt to get pictures.

My question right now: there was a thread within the last few years which had a picture of a 505 in Argentina with an aftermarket grille.

    Can anyone remember where?

    Thanks.

  3. shoot, i didnt even know there was a difference between 83 and 84 interiors.

This is a project that I've long contemplated, but as most of you all know, I was involved in an accident back in May, that totaled my car (which is going to rebuilt). I sustained severe whiplash and got a concussion, all due to the lack of headrest protection. If some recall, I had my seats redone about five or so years ago. While the seats may look and feel nice, they are unsafe. The upholster guy put too much "padding" in the seat, to the point that my neck/head get NO protection from the headrest, and I'm 6' 2". So I have finally decided to upgrade my car's interior to the 1984+ specs.. With this, I'm going to need two front seats and two rear seats. I also want to add rear headrests. Anyone know how difficult this is going to be and if there are any differences in hardware?

This past summer, I completely gutted my BMW 3-series' interior for audio-installtion, and put it all back together with no problems. Curious if there are any guys on here who have gutted their 505's before, and what I should look out for, or take "extra" care for.

Also, if anyone has a 505 interior in Brown, Tan, Red, or Black, please send me an e-mail here! :D

    Cheers!

  4. hmmm. peugeots i know of

burgundy diesel (lookin pretty worn, but still driven) is usually parked a couple blocks over from me

theres a black v6 or turbo sitting in a parking lot corner 1 block from me (owner left a note on my windshield once, we chatted, he's an old guy and just has the pug sitting there for maybe 2-3 years now i forget)

used to see the blue v6 that was on ebay a lil while ago - either at ramsey peugeot or on the nj highways

and then the half dozen or so sitting at ramsey peugeot

oh, and theres a wagon on the upper west side near columbia u. i seen 2 or 3x

  5. youre really spoiling your 505, you know that...haha

got the coil springs and sway bars back from the blasters today; they were actually ready yesterday, but i got busy and didn't have time go pick them up (the sandblasters i used are in the butt-end of nowhere). cost was US$30. as a reminder, here's what they looked like before:

  6. i second the "taking car to a 2nd mechanic" thing. Heres a list of mechanics who know their way around peugeots

    http://myplace.frontier.com/~peugeot/mechanics

as for donuts and rockfords....im all for those! but he may make something worse if the suspension is in bad shape already.

i'm sure others can comment intelligibly on the mechanics of the situation (that must have been some pothole!)...as for the "what do i do now?" question: if it was me, i'd carefully drive my car to an empty parking lot and wring the car out, being sure to use the steering in lots of different maneuvers (donuts, slalom, etc.). the weekend is coming up, so you should be able to find an empty parking lot somewhere. see if the car feels different from the last time you did donuts in a parking lot... :D

alternately/additionally, you could take it to another mechanic for a second opinion, you can probably find someone who will inspect the steering for a bit a shop time...

  7. yeah i think the logistics of the group buy killed us, which was sad, cuz you did a lot of legwork on that (i was one of the guys going "WOO YEAH ADAPTERS!" too heh.

i was just searching for 4x140 wheels/adapters again cuz it had been a while since last i looked into it, on the web. this site was definitely new, because the first hits i came across last time i searched were messages on subie offroad forums - this time around, again i was finding post threads on their forums, but it was them mentioning this site. (and also, scorpio wheels - google "scorpio subaru wheels" - they make a neat looking rim for the subes, but its only 14"). so adapter kings and scorpio seemed new (threads on the subie forums were from the past 4 months). im still doing some due diligence on them, best ive found so far: some pro-touring guys used their stuff, but i dont take too much comfort in that considering those cars (not all, but the ones i saw in the thread!) didnt look like they are driven further than the local cruise in and back home, with maybe one short tire chirp somewhere in between. the subie guys havent tried them yet from what ive read so far (i think for them, its not such a mechanical undertaking to swap the 4x140 hubs for whatever the other more common subie pattern is)

good news tho, i found a post on the lemons boards - that could be promising, cuz thats a good bit of abuse being put on the adapters....im about to leave work, will post when i get home again

I priced it out at $114 each... So $456 for a set of 4 - pretty much on par with what I priced out with Avalanche in Calgary - but their price included anodizing.

This would be way easier to do rather than organizing a group buy - This way you can purchase at your leisure. Nothing seemed to come together for the proposed group buy, and I didn't pursue very hard as there was only one or two really interested parties and I wasn't even one of them. Once I get my BMW mod done and functional - THEN maybe I'll look at an adapter set up for my 504. 'Course - once I'm invested in BMW wheels - makes sense to keep with it and upgrade the 504 with the original set up I did.

Ohms - Did you happen to hear any reviews on forums or anywhere? They don't look familiar, so not one I checked out when I was looking.

  8. hey check it out...

    http://shop.adapterkings.com/4-Lug-to-4-Lug-larger-than-135mm-or-55-4-lug-to-4-lug-7-plate.htm?productId=40

No worries Bryan! I'm not sure I'll get some myself this round - that $500 would buy another set of nice BMW wheels.

BUT - I'll likely get a set once I have that done and operational since I still have 3-4 more Peugeots. :)

Problem was finding someone that had the quality and the pricing, and after trying to do it local for at least $500, this made the most sense. The work they do seems top notch and it has the added benefits of being anodized for protection.

  9. just more thoughts on colors...

-audi nimbus grey with a clay-red color leather interior

-infiniti maui blue (only available on a few 2002 infiniti g20's) with tan leather interior

-porsche guards red, tan leather, and 5 spoke fuchs porsche wheels on adapters

  10. fellow nj'er here - i know of some sedans just sitting, but no wagons come to mind. Ramsey Peugeot has MAYBE 2 wagons sitting, but i think both are spoken for.

if someone could do an sr swap and keep p/s and AC, that would be sweet for a daily driver.

yea i know, but right now i have a line on a great SR swap package and im only going to be using it for local events as of right now. Englishtown, NJMP, VIR..

I would love to go V8, but only have enough cash for the SR swap and possibly the car.

I have a few of the Drift Alliance guys hanging at my shop these days so I got the itch for a drift toy again.

  11. a figaro for my gf, she sighs sadly whenever she sees a pic of one

Over a thousand in only a few days. With many left, we can hopefully get this done.

But on a side note, what is car(s) would you import, if this law was passed? (Keep in mind that with this passed, bringing a car of 15 years or older to America would be quite as simple as purchasing it abroad, and having it shipped over).

My personal choices (and affordable at that):

    -Peugeot 505 Turbo Injection (euro-spec)

    -Peugeot 406 Coupe

    -BMW 3-series Touring (E30)
