  1. It happened like this: Before the race started on Sat. all was going along quite smoothly compared to the other events we'd been to. Then, with the car warming up, 1st and second drivers suited up, 10 minutes until grid, the 505 stopped running. Just stopped. After much investigation that discovered a clogged fuel pump and a non-functioning relay effecting the coil we managed to get on course about an hour late. Big disapointment. The 505 ran like a champ for the rest of the day with the first couple of drivers making consistant top 10 lap times. The next day we made the start on time, then our day got pretty hard. We had a driver hit a tire wall. that brought us in for a penalty but the 505 was unfazed. The next driver had some contact and broke the steering rack and damaged the diff. Another penalty and repairs too. Yet another driver had a big off and we suffered another penalty. By this time the 505 was worse for wear and not handling very well. We brought it in again too make some repairs and went out for the last couple of laps to make the checker flag. Not quite how we like our racing to occur, but that's why it's called racing and not winning I guess. ;-)
  2. That should have said March 6-7 and now it does. There is an event LeMons event coming up on May 7-8 too. We're going to try to be at that one too, but we've got a lot of repairs to do.
  3. In-car video from the 24 Hours of LeMons event at Sears Point/Infineon Raceway, March 6-7, 2010. Quality will get better when processing is finished.
  4. Yes, I'd still like a gallery. Thanks.
  5. Half the field at these events are total racing novices. My race rubber doesn't make much of a sound before it lets go, but a street tire does. Even a novice racer knows that a screaming tire might be at its limit of traction (Ok, not all of them).
  6. There is a DOT minimum treadwear rating 190 at LeMons. Same deal for Chumpcar. http://www.24hoursoflemons.com/rules/ http://www.chumpcar.com/rules_fees.php
  7. Thanks, it's nearly as much fun making the videos and racing. Nearly. By the way, you don't need a race license to race at LeMons or Chumpcar. Chumpcar's the new crapcan racing organization on the scene. Scott
  8. A gallery would be great Rabin, Thanks. Scott
  9. Right! That's pretty old school. Well, not that old I guess. Now I have to remember where I set up that account several years ago for this very purpose. Thanks, Norcal505!
  10. Thanks Rabin, I don't own a 505, I just race one. This results in having to work on a 505 also. That is where this forum has come in quite handy. Specifically, It's a 1988 505 Turbo S, currently red. I live in Kent, WA. I'm a member of "The Cheese Eating Surrender Monkeys" racing team. Here's a link to our website- http://teamlemon.blogspot.com/ Scott P.S. We haven't surrendered yet and don't intend to.
  11. OK, clearly I'm missing the skills nessasary to post pictures on this site. Please direct me to the "how to" section regarding this process. Thanks. Scott Reno-Fernley Raceway 08 Thunderhilll Raceway 09
  12. This is a short video shot from inside a 1988 505 Turbo S driven by various members of The Cheese Eating Surrender Monkeys racing team. Video was taken during the 24 Hours of LeMons event at Thunder Hill Raceway Park in November. It wasn't really a racing-for-24-hours event, but we were on track for about 13 hours over the weekend. Just to be clear; we never actually surrender. Ever. Scott "Leadfoot" Miller
  13. long time viewer first time poster. Just wanted to say hello. Scott
