NOOOO you just did understud Me wrong... that was installed on that car when I bought it. That is now removed and archived in store room. I'm not planning to used it anywere at all.

Reading some on this forum, i found this engine management crash course, which taught me there's this injection ignition relation from pin 18 to 3 or 3 to 18 if i remember correctly on the 505 Turbo.
I was kinda wondering really how to test the ignition. Like for the injection you got your documentation that says pin 1 is ignition, 2, 3, 18 is throttle body, 4 start contact, 5 is mass and so on.
I know nothing bout the ignition, i know the aluminium box is knock control and the black plastic box something else.
I got sparks, and i've seen the timing "wandering" with the stroboscoop lamp. So it's sorta working, but i know i got some wires that aint going anywhere...
Also this flywheel speed sensor under the car, is it just for diagnose or has it more funtions?
All docs i got are injection related, some help with the ignition would be very much appreciated.
:-))
Black one is for ign advance control
wandering in caused by gap in distrib and gear pin below.
"speed sensor" that you can remove and throw away I'ts only for tester.

Pictures added on web page -> http://kotinetti.suomi.net/enkenberg/Project/index3.html
Also piston rings found -> Oldsmobile 401cid 92mm piston rings -> http://kotinetti.suomi.net/enkenberg/Proje...g_proj_011.html
Only two upper rings can be used but old oil rings can beused and those needs only soft sandpaper touch (800-1200 grind) in cylinder side surface.
Good thing is with those rings at ring cap can be adjusted to correct size (0.3mm).
Those cylinders are first fixed with ridge reamer -> http://kotinetti.suomi.net/enkenberg/Proje...g_proj_009.html
More info of reamer -> http://mgaguru.com/mgtech/tools/ts311.htm

is this made with a standard exhaust pipe, or should it be made out of a pipe with thicker steel?
This thikness issue is allways "good" discutions issue But using std exhaust pipe has been good in my applications. thick pipe has also some good and bad issues like it also stores heat longer and does not "give" it away, weight problem (could need some support). etc. so in my POW normal thiknes has more good issuest than thicker ones.
This in not so bad conversion at all, I must give gredit to guy who did make it. (was not my idea)
I'll take some better pictures now, cause I have removed it from car.

IHMO: under ~300hp setups that kind of thing does not have any effect. If you have seen fex Sierra Cosworth originel exh then you know. And they take over 300hp with that.

interesting turbo setup, have you inspected the manifold? i'm cuerious what that looks like because the turbo looks super low. hmmmmm
Jep, there is adaptor pipe from org manifold to turbo. I'll take picture of it.

I did go and pick this one from UmeĂĄ Sweden in just before cristmas (drived more than 800km in slippery weather with trailer) and this had craked engine (syl 1 con rod worn to end)

Now new engine is build and next thing is to register it to Finland (not so easy)
I used Cadillac 401cid pistonrings (92mm) but not oilrings.
Car it self was driven 208tkm, and luckily last owner did only 2tkm of it
but did make many modifications as you can see. I removed all added
and rebuid with original ones. Turbo, IC, airfilter, exthaust etc...
Then plan is to sell it right away cause I have new interest -> 406 coupe with V6
I'm also selling this one -> -85 driven 150tkm

Just teasing you , thats correct -> dani head plugs are C8E:s Originel Bosch works okay also tuned engine very well. Of cause you have more extreme conditions with hot weather. Then you could use one point colder plugs that should help.

Dear V-M (My full name is Michal VĂtek so I'm M-V )
It will be great if You will find some good set for me. You can be sure that I really am an enthusiast (on tuesday I've got a Talbot Solara 1,5GL for free - broken cylinder head, but good chassis - the ovner was decided to wreck the car, so I try to rescue it for somebody from our club - www.volny.cz/simcaklub ).
I'm waiting for Your message on [email protected] too.
Thanks a lot, Michal
Surely, let's see. Now when snow is melting I can go in store room and see what I have.
Are you familiar with these? ->Chrysler club and Milan Topez in there?

i agree with trevor. trying to do some side mounted intercooler is going to me more hassle and not benifit you that much.
peugeot sport used big FMIC's on their 240ch production race cars. its almost identical to the volvo 740 intercoolers!
this was the official peugeot FMIC for the 505 turbo from what i understand:
That is not only identical, that is volvo IC. So that is not Peugeot IC eaven it has been used.

Hi,
thanx a lot for links but... Prices ( 1000 Eur/set or 249 USD/one ) are unacceptable for me. I know that it will be a miracle if I'll find a lower price but there is an average income cca 600 Eur in Czech republic (and I have Peugeot 505 Turbo, Talbot Tagora 2,2 GLS, Talbot Matra Murena 2,2 and Simca Aronde 1300 DeLuxe ). So I must wait till somebody will be selling parts from (for example) crashed car or from engine with another problem. It's hard to own all these cars, but... You know
Hi,
I have several sets of used pistons. I'll have a look IF I can sell one set. There is alternatives also but usually those requires some (heavy) modifications. But are usefull ones.

Current situation, Nissan disks are machined and looking nice. There was 5 bolt attach pattern so those did needed to weld before machining work. But seems at that can be done with small effort.
Old man did already one side fitting and claimed at looks ok.
I did find also better alternative: Toyota Landcruiser Diesel 4.2L (90-92) Front disks 286mm/105mm/25mm and 6attach bolts

yeah can't get the abs rotors from tirerack, we've tried..
let us know if you end up with the nissan rotors V-M.
Surely! Yeah I was doupting also tirerack but he was "pushing heawily" at they have correct ones.
They are a guaranteed fit. Which means we would pay for the shipping if there was a fitment problem.
Best Regards,
Rudy

About upgrade, My opinion is at if you don't drive in heavy cornered track only upgrade is good pads (fex EPC or ferodo 6000) and silicon based licuid for brakes

Sounds good (if I ever get a 505 with ABS ;-D) Do those Patrol discs also have that "sensor ring" for ABS? It looks like a solid part of the original discs (looking those pictures) or is it removable? Are you thinking about a brake update with bigger rotors for your '85 505?-) Also front bearings should be different and the hub nut is a huge one (I recently read about these from some Peugeot-L message, IIRC)...
Hub is still on in those pictures so no brobs with that. No upgrade for me, I just try to help oldman with that red one. Yes, center nut is size 50

Here's something that's maybe related to your question:
http://leverdie.club.fr/RECHERCHE.htm
V6 and Turbo Injection models with ABS had the same front rotors which are different from the rest?
Yep, those are correct ones. Nissan Patrol have nearly same dimensions but disc diameter is 295mm compare to original 283mm but that can be machined so no brobs on there... let's see. (patrol disks cost 40e)

I was querying from tirerack.com about those and they claimed to have those ? I doubt a bit?

OK JunktionFET just enlightened me a little.. the ABS rotors mount to a different hub, so the bolt pattern is different 'n all..
Bolt pattern different??? 140 X 4?
