  1. Followed up on a craigslist ad for a 505 diesel for $600. It's more of a project than I can take on, but the guy has a few others.

He wants to get rid of them or crush them so someone needs to save them. If interested I can send his contact info. Fredericktown Ohio

    1. 81 505 turbo diesel. turbo is off but it runs and drives. needs work (car I followed up on) needs a repaint

    2. 85(?) 505 4cy with nice aftermarket wheels, mud flaps, etc. has been sitting

    3. 505 turbo wagon. super nice body and interior. engine is out of it.

  2. Hi André,

I think it's just that the iPhone camera is just that much better than mine. I didn't have to do any adjustments on the pics.

Yea there aren't really any peugeot specialists around here in the midwest that i know of. he just didn't know what he was doing. IDK, when i work on a computer i don't return it to a client in worse shape than i got it... still a bit peeved by the whole situation.

I have four peugeot logo mud flaps so i'm gonna put one on each wheel.

the 405 is a different car, fwd, more modern, cheaper interior than the 505. they drive differently. they're still both very comfortable though.

Mike T: yea i know, i need to unbolt the bumper, pull it and reattach.

Side note: how do you like your Merc B class? Supposedly the states are getting the next rev.

  3. looks good!

have you had a chance to get the clutch fixed yet?

    andré

    Hi André :-)

yea the clutch is fixed... though the mechanic that replaced the clutch (not the guy that painted it) fscked up a bunch of stuff. it doesn't start cleanly anymore, it stutters and i have to hold the gas for a few until it warms up. and he broke the speedo cable on top of the other niggles with it.

I need to pull the bumper on the passenger side so it's straight. the glovebox latch got broken while the clutch was getting fixed. there are a few grounding and other electrical issues. the fog lights don't work, ABS doesn't work

but it runs and drives, starts and mostly stops, the heat and heated seats work.

After I get the above stuff fixed I'll put my peugeot mud flaps on and maybe try my hand at a rear fog light like i did on my old 505.

I'm happy with the paint though, it's very pretty.

  4. Peugeot cannot access Radio codes anymore, Brian Holm asked us if we could call Peugeot so maybe he could sell some radios that he needed the codes for. We did and they cannot

I do have a J4 Pressure plate in stock that I would be willing to let go cheap just to get it off our shelf...

So why does Peugeot Motors America exist again? They seem pretty fucking useless.

The radio code is written on the radio in a few places supposedly, but i cannot figure out how to input zeros. Proly just tear it out and find a head unit with Sirius built in if i decide to keep it

  5. Glutton indeed! lol

I've only ever driven one on a test drive, and the older lady that was selling it insisted on coming with, so naturally I didn't get to give it a good drive. I was impressed with the comfort and the refinement of it though.

Good luck with the car and keep us posted on what of you think of it once you get it going...

    Rabin

BTW - nice to hear the 505 is going to a nice home too. :)

Thanks guys :) I'll see how well it does once the clutch is replaced - i can't romp on it too hard yet hehe.

I might have to replace the factory head unit - i can't find anywhere online how to enter the code. Other than that so far so good.

  6. ... With my newest acquisition. 1989 405 mi16 from the Philadelphia area

    Good:

    - no rust

    - nice interior - pretty clean

    - most everything appears to work - lights, seats, sunroof, etc.

    Bad:

    - slipping clutch

    - OEM radio needs security code

    - will need a PS pump soon

    - heater control flap stuck - in the cold position lol

    - paint faded

    - windshield wiper fluid pump appears DOA

The clutch is perfectly drivable. I will not be autocrossing it any time soon though...

I'll have the clutch replaced and it painted by spring hopefully (yay for promotion, rise and bonus at work)

As for my 505? a friend of mine is going to be taking it - he wants to finish fixing it. To go a little OEMPlus on it.
