  1. I haven't made that ignition map my self. My fellow hobbyist made it to his car and it should be almost like the standard ignition map. -Tama
  2. Here's my Megasquirt settings and ignition&fuel maps, if you're interested.. That file is a Megasquirt *.msq file so change the name to 26.5.07.msq and open it with megatune. This forum didn't allow me to attach *.msq files so I had to rename it. 26.5.07.txt
  3. To be honest, I haven't calculated it yet. But i think it would be around 8:1.
  4. Hello beam, They make custom gaskets just to fit your use. This gasket can not be found from their catalog. I sent the old gasket as a model and they made the gasket from the model. I adjusted a bit the thickness though... My gasket is a bit thicker than the original. -Tama
  5. Thanks for the help, because my English is not that good I really need some help to tell things clearly and understandable. I'll get my pistons back tomorrow and I'll probably call you V-M and ask some advice how to smooth those edges after machining. Is sand paper ok?
  6. Thanks V-M for the answer. Like V-M told the rod fits to the piston without modifications. I ordered that head gasket from Italy from http://www.navalineasport.it/ In finland we have a contact person who supply those gaskets. The gasket to turbo use cost 180 euros = 260 USD (now the dollar is really weak) with shipping. Those rings are reusable like V-M said and the rest of the gasket costs 80€ if you want to order it separately. I think the gasket can handle lots of boost, the weakest part are the pistons, piston rings and the head. Knocking will kill the motor as I had to experience... -Tama
  7. Hello Bean, In those pictures the wheels are 17" and tires are 215/45/17. The suspension in front is from Volvo 240 dsl and i've cutted the spings a little bit... And the rear springs are from Mercedes 190 (if i remember correct). That kind of suspension is quite stiff and it worked nicely in track too. The pistons are from Volvo 240 2.1 Turbo. Engine type B21ET and they are oversize. std:s are 92mm and mine are 92,5mm Rods are from Saab 900 and they are 134mm long. I had to lower the pistons 2mm to fit them correctly. The pistons are made by Mahle and if I have undestood right they should be forged. With those pistons they get 350-400hp from Volvos... Here is few pictures from the pistons and my head gasket. -Tama
  8. So the summer didn't went as planned.. The upper piston rings broke down in every cylinder and the second one from 4th... Now I've been rebuilding the motor with new pistons from Volvo B21ET and with piston rods from Saab. Hopefully next summer the engine will last better.. Here's some pictures
  9. First I was using 15" original wheels and after I burned those out I put 225/45/17 With 15" wheels I could slide with 3rd gear in dry asphalt. But with 17" there wasn't' enough power. When it started raining the track got really slippery and I drove few laps and then stopped driving... Hopefully next summer I'll get an better video..
  10. Yes, they are both from Bmw e34. I had to widen them almos 15cm. And the top of the rear bumper is homemade from fiberglass. Last autumn I blew the head gasket and now I have a better one. So I'm hoping to get 300hp with 1.3 bar boost. I'm waiting the summer and then I'll start driving and tuning the setups. I don't have tires yet to my 17" so they aren't installed yet. I'll put more pictures when I take the car out of garage. And I hope that I had time to put some project pictures to internet. Maybe I'll make some kind of homepage one day...
  11. Now the new bodywork is ready.. The project took a while, because I had to change the whole body. So in fact this is another car. The body is -84. Here's few pictures. The car is bit dirty and my 17" wheels aren't installed.
  12. I am running with extra code 026q or something. I have to update it to the newest when I have time. I got ignition and fuelmaps and lots of help from Kari who has also squirted his 505. So lots of thanks to him. And of course, I could give my setups if somebody wants them. They arent ready yet like V-M said. Still needs lots of adjusting. Today I'll get my wideband O2 so i can tune the perfectly. And I am hoping to raise the boost up to 1,2bar if everything goes like planned. Driveability is good, but like I said. Some adjustments have to be done.
  13. Yes, I used them on track two weeks ago. First I drove with 15" original allowwheels and when the rear tires were worn out I put those 17" with adapters. Last summer I drove aprox. 5000km in street with those adapters without problems. And those eyelids I've made myself. Here's some pictures from year 2004. http://www.kanetti.fi/~tama/nposo/nposo.html Now my car is getting ready to get repainted with new skirts and bumpers and some other mods. The color will be candy black which goes to gold when light hits it.
  14. I'm using adapters and the wheels are Valbrem 17" ET 38, 4x100.
  15. I havent seen any negative affect of those eylids. But nowadays I have xenon lamps..
  16. Yep, that's my car It's getting ready to get repainted. Bumpers and skirts are gonna be different. About the engine: Dans cam, Garrett T03/4, comp 50mm, exh. 50mm, A/r .63 Big cooler. 3" donwpipe 465ml/min injectors Megasquirt Lightened Flywheel Eaton clutch and something little stuff.. Now I'm running 1 bar boost, but tomorrow or tonight I'll get chance to run some setups and raise the boost up to 1,2bar. Then I'm hoping that the power would be close to 300hp. When i have done all the setups, i'll goto dyno. I'll put the results to net so you can look them. Tomorrow is trackday were I'm going to, but I'm not yet sure that am I gonna drive my 505 there. One of my allow wheel is bent.
