Happy holidays!

Actually - it's best to fill the oil filter with oil before start up - no need to "prime" and your engine won't turn at all without oil - or at least less than at any other startup.
Your right Bean, I should have mentioned the filter "priming". However I'd still suggest running oil through the engine before a dry(ish) start after an oil change. This is a technique I've seen a few Peugeot and Citroen mechanics use in the past, so I've always tried to follow it. ("Especally on turbo-charged cars")
I've always had the best luck with Purflux filters, and try to stick with them. Mann filters also seem ok, and are available at most Europen parts sources (around here anyway). (Madhu at Disortex actually recommended Mann filters last time I spoke with him)

Always remember to _prime_ your turbo cars after an oil change. Ground the coil wire and crank for 10-15 seconds (that's what I generally like to do).

Here's a link to a supercharger kit for the Mi16:

Not cheap, but it would be fun!

Welcome NorPug!
Your right Toni! I think the new Subaru WRX STi has a intercooler spray switch.
Are ralley cars still using water injection?
I think it's a great idea, but probably hard to tune / get just right.
-
Thanks for all the great link Toni!!! I've added a few to our links database, and am working on a few updated sections of the site (one being photo galleries)..

I believe this one from Lindsey racing is a 1.5:1 regulator. From what I hear, its a direct bolt on.

Didn't the mid eighties Renault GTA have a twin turbo PVR6? Don't see many of those though....has anyone seen one n N.A.?
Are you talking about the Renault-Alpine GTA V6 Turbo?

Quite a let down on the power ratings.

I've been talking to CATALIN505 via email and it sounds like he's got LOTS of 505 race car pictures. I've given him a FTP account on the 505turbo.com server so I'm hoping he will upload soon!!

Here are the pictures CATALIN505 was trying to post.
Merci CATALIN505!

Thanks for the update V-M!! We look forward to hearing more about your project.

CATALINN505 had some problems with the attached file format. I'm hoping i'll be getting them as e-mail attachments soon so I can post!

I always thought the 45 second power burst in each gear was a bit odd. Maybe they figure you wont be in any gear longer then 45 seconds before hitting the rpm limiter.
The variable A/R turbo charger is a work of art on that car too. I think they needed that on the N9TEA2

I like the front bumper / air dam. It looks like something in between the 81-88 (lip) and the 89 (dam).

The 505 does have exceptional braking! Here are some figures i've got together:
Ferrari Enzo: 60-0 = 109ft
BMW M3: 60-0 = 113ft
2006 Corvette: 60-0 = 115ft
Peugeot 505: 60-0 = 126ft
Mclaren F1: 60-0 = 127ft
Acura NSX: 60-0 = 128ft
It's honestly hard to believe. Someone should do some checks so we have some real world figures.

Excellent to hear!
The Re-Torque is done stone cold:
1 - Remove coolant expansion tank cap
2 - In the spiral pattern, loosen bolt 1 1/4 of a turn, then torque. When finished, move on to bolt 2 (and so on).
3 - Adjust valves
4 - Tighten expansion tank cap
Finished!

The trick with copper is a special coating that is applied to it before use - it's this coating that gives the copper it's sealing properties.
Maybe something like Copper Coat?
I've used that stuff before on used N9T exhaust manifold gaskets before with great success..

Great job on the research Bean! I look forward to seeing what you end up with.

Thanks for the feedback guys!
505T: Definitely! I'm extremely pleased with the turnout so far. We still have more to add to the site so I'm hoping to see the numbers increase. This month has been our highest traffic month so far, over 100k hits! woo hoo!

Welcome to 505turbo.com Juha!
There was some talk on turbo upgrades a while back, and I believe there are a few people in progress of upgrading, but I'm not sure of the status.
You can find info on the turbo upgrade thread here:

Do you have any pictures of your car?
