Saving Peugeot parts

During the coming month, two old time French car businesses are shutting down and this provides an opportunity to save some stuff. The first is a shop in Abbotsford that was a Renault specialist, and up for grabs at no charge were a 4CV and Dauphine - stored indoors, as well as a Caravelle - outdoors but fitted with Cromodora alloys, as well as parts. All of those are taken now. I managed to save 6 Renault 5 Ducellier E-Code headlights and a pair of Peugeot 504 CibiƩ Kangourou lights (E-Code 40/45W main lights and H-1 driving lights built in) from a 1975-1976 504. Please forgive the bad photos below, I should have shot the photos in the same spot, because the lights are of equal shininess. I'll be hanging onto these as a reminder of my late Dad's 504s....

The other site is to remain even more secretive for the time being, but it apparently has a good quantity of Peugeot NOS parts that could also be either free or inexpensive, and so I will be following up there too to ensure it's not all sent to the scrapper. I'll update this thread later.

Great reminder for sure as the euro 504 headlights are my favorite part of the 504 look for me.

Definitely keep us posted on progress as well - hands are fairly tied now, but if it drags out into the spring / summer then that could change things.

Well here is the update. The owner of the parts who was vacating the (now sold) house (Walter) made a deal with the new owner to rent the place for $2000 a month so he can try to sell his parts stock, which is all stored there. Pavel, the guy who was in touch with Walter, tells me that he thinks the parts will ultimately be sold in a lot to someone but at least be saved. Pavel also told me that he thinks Walter will lose money by staying there as it's unlikely he'll derive $2000/month from part sales.

In any case, the parts should still survive and not be pitched into the garbage, which is the main thing. We've no idea who will end up with them, though.
