Engine Oil pan modifications

As you all know i've gotten myself a little Niva (russian 4x4). I truly like driving it, working on it but its biggest draw back if its outdated design, the engine is a copy for 50's fiat engine then made to work in russia, horrible combination. And after 40 years in use the engine is tired, feels underpowered, uses lots of oil, and fuel consumption of 15/100km on 1.6l is not good. A popular upgrade is swapping in a Peugeot XUD9, which i have couple and are very good engines. One of the biggest modification to make that engine fit is the oil pan, the little niva has a front diff right undenight the engine, niva cam with a factory xud9, they are rare, but i did find some photos from there oil pan wich i need to make, my question is there baffles that i can make to make it less susceptible to low oil pressure at steep angles when off roading, also is there interest in me documenting this engine swap on this forum?

The answer is always yes Goce!

What is the height difference of the motors?   Looks like the diesel is much shorter height wise, but hard to tell how much shorter it is from crank centreline to the bottom of pan.

Flap door baffle box around the pic up makes sense as well.

The oil pickup is also special:

That is obvious, the pan has a different height and shape, i'll have to choose how to modify it and i really want to use a turbo diesel pump, because i really want to have around 100 hp and 200 Nm of torque but to get it certificate i can't have more power than stock so i have to have N/A engine for the inspection. Tomorrow i'll start a new thread for this project build, i hope you like it and give me your thoughts.

The Niva 1600 has 78hp, that's exactly the power output of the XUD7T used on the 205 and 309 diesel turbo. Safe for the Lucas pump and (lack of) intercooler it's the same engine than the 90hp XUD7TE from the 405.

There is also a XUD9SD 75 hp turbo diesel on the 406 and Xantia but I didn't check if the internals are the same than the XUD9TE. This engine was also transversely mounted on the Suzuki Vitara.
