Hi Savo, Where did you get power to run that extra bulb in the euro light? Was it the side marker corner light circuit? I have the Depo lights with the extra inboard bulb. my3AWDgst
Well...I can’t believe it has been a year already! Right... I got tired of kicking around this headliner so this last weekend I installed it back in to car and washed all that New Mexico dust from inside of the car. Last year I washed carpet and all plastic interior parts and installed it all back together on Saturday, once it’s all completed I’ll post few pictures. I still need to order speakers and radio. I only got these two pictures of last weekend and hopefully I should have better ones this weekend.
my3AWDgst
Here are few pictures before I started to clean it up, if you look closely you can see thick layer of light gray field dust. Somehow this dust found it’s way all the way inside of body panels past all interior trim parts.
my3AWDgst
These 405 interiors can test your patience It’s almost all back together except front door panels where I ran out of spares. Headlight switch and other bits coming from Germany Picture late Saturday afternoon
my3AWDgst
As promised here are pictures of interior, amazingly enough all interior pieces survived in this car. Only damaged items are rear upper seats (replaced with good used) and cracked front door panels (upper part) which will be repaired. I should add that I shortened shift knob, looks way nicer being shorter. Once speakers and radio arrive I’ll install speakers grills and radio trim. my3AWDgst
I also end up cleaning up windshield wiper cowl area, painted brake booster, plastic wiper trim, replaced brake fluid and made in france label.
Goce
Time really fly along, you'll doing a great job on the interior, have you located couple of windscreens for it. Is this a BE1 gearbox car with a pull style reverse gear?

Yes early cars here had BE1 box, I do have few 91 style BE3 boxes.
my3AWDgst
Today I removed taillights, trunk interior trim and carpet panels to have it all cleaned up. With some reson previous owner went batman mode with self made insulation on this car . So this car had extremely hard cold start and I knew it wasn’t fuel relited as you could smell raw fuel from exhaust. I end up replacing ignition components with known good used units and problem persisted so last thing left were spark plugs and when I pulled them out I was not surprised at all what I found. They are extremely worn and three different brands were used as you can see in the pictures. Now she starts up great
Goce
What did you use to clean the trunk sides so good? Are you planning to add some insolation over the rear wheel arches and the trunk floor? Front windscreens are around 100 euro here.

I use 50/50 mix Purple Power degreaser/Palmolive dishwasher soap and sometimes I delude it with water. I’ll return only original insulation as it’s still in good shape, windshields are about $250-350 plus installation. Very low demand keeps price very high
Goce
The 405 can relay be improved in the insolation department at the back, peugeot revisited them and applied the tar style insolation in the later series 2 405 . I've put additional insolation in almost all the 405 i've own, the Mi16x4 has two layers of tar style on the entire wheel arch and the rear wings are full of fiberglass insulation. This really helps improve the ride quality on the highway. Have you try writing to European auto parts, they seem to have OEM parts for china prices, couple of my friends started ordering parts from them because of their quality, they don't have peugeot listed, but a friend did bought couple of sensors from them for a peugeot by just sending them an e-mail . www.eeuroparts.com
my3AWDgst
I’ll try them out, thanks.
my3AWDgst
Finally found some time to install speakers, these are same ones I’m running in my other 405’s. They are extremely affordable and sound really good for the price.
Bean
Excellent resto Savo - I always love seeing your attention to detail, and being a stickler for doing things PROPER. Definitely need to drive a Savospec 405 someday. Rabin

Bean
I really think we all need to meet in Indiana at Jim Schick's for Pam's Car Show... Jim's probably got one of the largest and nicest Peugeot collections in North America and he said next year might be the last one... Needs to be a doozey if so! Will still have to come to California regardless at sometime - maybe for Radwood or a Lemons race... Rabin

Peugeottogo
I'd like to chime in here and not hijack the thread? Isn't Jim's meet usually in late October?
Bean
It is yes - I just reached out to Jim to confirm dates. Rabin
my3AWDgst
Weather was beautiful this past weekend so I end up painting few things on this car as well. Both mirror covers and center taillight part, next on the list are door handles and front grill. Also I’m gonna order rear taillights from 405 classic’s, this version is much nicer as they come with light tint around turn signals.
