tommtl
HI!!! I'm looking to buy a second 505 station wagon. The car is in very great condition but stored since 7 past years. Seller says car was running great before storage but do not start anymore. Something is seized up. In that king of situation, what the first thing to do? Thank you
Bean
If it's seized I would source another motor or plan for a rebuild as a plan B before you buy. I have seen things like a jammed starter, or a mechanical issue that freed up the motor but chances are slim. My guess is the piston rings seized to the cylinders, while unlikely in a diesel, if the head gasket was shot and coolant leaked into the bores it would allow corosion to seize it up.
