  1. People tend to factor the transmission type into most classic car purchasing decisions. I usually would only buy a manual. But some might swap in their transmission of choice. What are the transmissions on your cars?

    Need tiny dog-bone

Naaah, I got one from Brian H and it was a turd also. It's kinda ghetto to have to manually pop the mirrors in place. The car is supposed to be a luxury GT sedan. ? I'm thinking I should reverse-engineer the requirements and put a modern switch into there. It's actually pretty complicated. Bigger fish to fry at present on the car.
  3. Another thing to consider is these care long ago stopped being financially economical to operate. You own them because you love them. Peugeots are worth nothing. The nicest one in the world will sell for $15K. I have a nice 87 505 turbo. 2K, 5K? Get any semblance of fiscal value out of your head. You want value, get a Corolla. You want investment-grade value, get a VW bus. Nothing wrong with that. Just different car in different role.
  4. Wow. Honda CBXs? I'm not a bike guy at all, but I had a good friend who was a bike gear head who had one of these back in the day. Gave me a spirited ride on one. OMG! Total respect! Those things are sick. ?
  5. I had a seal, but it wasn't right for some reason. They re-used the old one. Sealing up was an issue they were not concerned about. The lock item had been removed by the PO in the 1990s. I can put you in touch with my glass shop if your guys have questions. Everybody there is over 50 so this didn't cause them any issues. They normally do exotics.
  6. Hey Mike, what ever became of your ultrasonic quest? For years I've wanted one of these. Was figuring on a Branson unit.
  7. Mine was just roached. A PO had somehow let the rubber in the wiper to deterioriate to the point it was dragging metal against the glass and put an arc-shaped scratch in it. I always buy used cars, but always put in new windshields. Just about makes the car new. Never scrimp on tires and glass!
  8. I bought a brand new windshield from Peugeot L'Aventure pièces de rechange. They pay air freight. Flew it to Seattle. (Merci!). Others in the mix had their hand out. (Taxes, "Agents", shipping company - add $150) There are hoops to jump through. And expect to pick it up from the airport yourself. Even after having a top notch shop install it I was out < $1,000. I would recommend it. The glass shop I went to said they could have ordered me up a non-tinted piece, but I'm super happy to have gotten this. They were impressed with it's quality. It's awesome.
  9. Nice nice nice nice That's one awesome car you're ending up with there.
  10. Let me know if you need any help. I know enough to be dangerous, but wife is pretty good with this.
  11. Hi all, I'm putting my door back together. Dynamat Extreme. Nice stuff, but boy, if I ever have to go back in there, it's gonna be tough. I don't think you're going to be re-using it. Anyway, I was having an intermittent problem which turned out to be a dry-solder joint. Soldered those back and it looks like I'm good to go. However, I lost one of the little 5mm x 1.4mm little copper connectors that look like a dog bone. If you have a complete unit, I'd like to buy it. If you just have a roached one, I'll buy that too. Plus, I have one for a series I car if someone needs it. Let me know. Thanks!
  12. It is a brand new timing belt. $12 should do it. Paying people? I've been using Venmo (A PayPal company) https://venmo.com/ People use it to cover split lunch bills, send someone $5, etc. PM me your address and I'll send back my email. Good luck, I sure miss my Mi16. Awesome cars!!
  13. Hi all, I'm working my way through my doors on my 87 505 turbo and I got a rude awakening. I thought these were interchangeable front-to-back. I knew they would be different left-to-right, but the front ones on Series II cars are 15mm longer than the rear ones. (!!!) I need both front anthracite (dark gray) ones. Preferably with all 5 tabs intact. Name your price! Speaking of such... Has anybody though what it would take to mould plastic parts? Thanks!
  14. Don't worry, I don't have any terminal disease. I just want to get some parts on cars that need them as I have a very slim chance of using this. (Seeing I sold my 405 a few years ago) 13 lbs shipped. USPS. Prefer Venmo. Thanks,
  15. I have a NIB Beck Arnley timing belt part #: 026-0290 Just cover shipping. USPS. Small packet. Prefer Venmo
  16. I just put what I think are the last set of N9Tx vented rotors on my car. I bought them directly from Peugeot about 10 years ago after begging them for them. The rest were probably scrapped. I would rather buy parts from JC Whitney or K-Mart rather than RA. If you buy something where they screwed up. They'll tell you it has a value and you should eBay it to get your money back. I ordered a head gasket set and was sent a head gasket set for a FIAT. They would do nothing for me. You can add parts to your cart and click buy and you might get something that's correct. But, understand that it may not and if it doesn't, you're just out the money. I bought some small item about a year ago with that mindset. It was not the right part. I'll park the car and catch it on fire before I ever buy another part from Rock Auto. 944 calipers are similar and I think can fit with some massaging. Rabin and Arun are pretty much the experts on that subject. I'm sure they'll chime in.
  17. Why do this? Vinyl wrapped some of the chrome pieces in matt-black Avery. Previous owner did a black-out with paint. This looks a bit better and is non-destructive. I also wrapped and installed new taillights (wrapped the chrome). Actually, the "chrome over plastic" is a manufacturing process called vacuum metalization. The capitalization costs are huge (large vacuum machine costs > $500K, etc) so getting plastic pieces 'rechromed' as it were, is almost impossible.
  18. There are three clips on the back on the trim piece (pictures 2 & 3). There is a small ramp on which those clips grab the mounting rail. Arrows in this picture. Carefully (with a pick or something) pry it away from the rail. No need to force anything. It'll come easily.
  19. No affiliation. I'd buy it just for the interior and engine. It could be restored. https://www.ebay.com/itm/1988-Peugeot-505-Turbo-S/283530642324?hash=item4203be4394:g:2oYAAOSw4lldFgUY&vxp=mtr
  20. I need to safely remove and replace this piece. I don't know how to do this. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks,

I wrote to them and they said the shipping costs are largely subsidized. I'll be ordering a few things for sure.

I put a windshield in my basket and it only quoted me $55 shipping to Seattle.... I'm thinking that's not going to happen. Victor, have you purchased anything from them before? Thanks. They have some cool parts there!
  23. It's been down for like 2 weeks now...
  24. Coming along nicely Mike! So glad to see that. Question for you. Can you ask your leather guy if he has a recommendation for a leather shop in Seattle? If he doesn't have anybody, would it be proper to bring up a set of 505 Series II gray leather seats for him to do. Your look just luscious there! Thanks,
