  1. That faulty rotor of mine was probably a copy/knockoff of a Facet. Clearly seen in the pics real Facet on left, faulty no name on the right. Facet has epoxy in center area, no name’s has the same plastic material in the center as the rest of the rotor.
  2. Try pulling the rotor off and looking closely at the insulating material that is on the back. I took a picture of mine and uploaded it. Theres a tiny hole near bottom of pic, impossible to see when the rotor is attached, and also what looks to be a weakened area up to the left. Majority of the spark was probably shorting straight to the camshaft. Cleaning up and installing the old rotor and cap fixed the rough idle, fouled plugs and all the ugliness. Bad quality control, inferior aftermarket parts. A mechanic friend that works on older BMW and Daimler cars says it’s gotten much harder to find good aftermarket parts in the last few years.
  3. Have you checked your distributor components? I had an ongoing misfire issue, plugs fouling, poor running when it ran at all. I checked and replaced a lot of parts trying to track it down. It turned out to be a newly replaced rotor that had a defect in its insulation and was shorting out to the cam shaft when the car warmed up. It was new along with the cap so I didn't suspect it.
  4. Make that 4. Following with great interest even though I don't post much. Peat
  5. I'm assuming 505 only (N9T). I wasn't able to find any info and a Kent Moore web search doesn't return many decent google hits other than fleabay.
  6. Selling an N9T Kent Moore Tool set. Please check pictures for applications as I don't have a tool listing. It seems to be a generic set for various parts of the car, ball joint wrench, seal presses, clutch alignment. Somebody else, I'm sure, knows better. It's missing one tool but I can't find any info on the web. $50 + shipping, (20 lbs from zip 98107).
  7. I have a bunch of miscellaneous parts for the 505 series new and used. Located in Seattle Wash. Mostly 505 gas turbo but also some from series 1 xn6 sedan. Looking for someone to take the whole lot. There are new and used parts. No reasonable offer refused. Here is the dropbox link to all the parts pictures. https://www.dropbox.com/sh/u6xnb0du9n1st08/AAC6ZHcB1MDved_UHHJY0TB5a?dl=0
  8. Hi Savo, Where did you get power to run that extra bulb in the euro light? Was it the side marker corner light circuit? I have the Depo lights with the extra inboard bulb. Peat
  9. While repairing the electrical lead to the oil pressure sensor on the Mi 16 I spotted another sensor next to it on the front of the engine above the oil filter/cooler. It sort of looks like it has a diaphragm like a fuel pressure regulator. It doesn't appear to be connected to anything. Does anyone know what it does?
  10. Thanks for posting this. Much better understanding of what's going on with the rear bearings.
  11. And all the associated trim if anyone is parting out a pre 91 405.
